    R3 running MRCD... best firmware?

The R3 is a great detector... but unfortunately, it has a hardware restriction that prevents it from detecting some MRCD units in Edmonton. Make sure you have your head on a swivel looking out for MRCD traps as not all will alert. If you're wanting to stick with Uniden, the R7 is a better choice...

    RL360c - Missed LEO due to Auto-Lockouts

Radar detector companies need to step up their game and create a better solution for false suppression. There are just so many junk K band signals everywhere now… it’s no surprise to see actual LEOs getting locked out by automatic lockouts.

    Edmonton LiDAR

Guess it depends how fast you drive lol, one big save will pay for the system. I get hit with a ton of LIDAR outside of Edmonton. DET guns are all over Alberta.

    New Upgrade Now Up

I think it probably depends where you are. I face multiple mobile MRCD threats daily and probably only see 2-3 MRCD falses a week. I don’t think it’s perfect but it’s 100% better than no MRCD detection. I would love to see Valentine add MRCD detection. In addition to MRCD, it would be amazing...

    Detecting Mobile MRCD with R7

1.35 broke MRCD detection for me in Edmonton. Firmware 1.29 or 1.33 was much better for MRCD detection.

Explorer ST front laser head placement

My ST is tuned by Palm beach dyno. Very easy to swap back to stock. I would highly recommend you upgrade the intercooler (especially if you plan on tuning). The stock one is way to small and complete garbage. The new one still retains all factory features like the active grille shutters which is...

That's assuming the 2021 NA versions have this new hardware though, it may very well be different. Would be nice if they did though!

Explorer ST front laser head placement

Having them spaced out that far out when using a TX isn't optimal and will likely lead to poor performance against DET guns

Different products are designed for different markets. Just because one product is designed one way, doesn't mean they all are. The R1/R3 was designed for North America and at the time of release, it wasn't known that they would need to scan lower than 24.050. 1620051561 Here is BRD also...

    Technical and customer support

The Attowave engineers told me directly the R3 was hardware limited when they came for MRCD testing in Edmonton. You can call it BS but I have no reason to believe they weren’t telling me the truth. Especially when you consider your point about NZ releasing a new hardware version of the R3. That...

    24.200 is within spec. R3 can detect K Band 24.150 GHz +/- 100 MHz

It was exactly the same when I tested. No difference on the R3 with MRCD on or off

No it doesn’t. It’s been confirmed by RDF members and even Uniden themselves. There will be a bit of variance between detectors as to what it can to. For example, my R1 can only scan down to 24.049 and it will not detect anything lower. Your picture shows 24.047 which really isn't far from 24.050.

Explorer ST front laser head placement

I haven't tested my set up yet, but his placement is how I've got mine (no front plate). Had a few DET saves but no official testing or anything.

I actually traded mine in last year and got the ST now :)

    ALP heads acrylic cover cost

Yeah, personally I would skip the covers at that price. Hardly noticeable on the rear. Check out some of these 3D printed mounts, way cheaper and can look pretty decent. https://www.rdforum.org/threads/109271/

    ALP heads acrylic cover cost

What year? I've done a 2014 and 2020. The 2020 Explorer was probably one of the easiest vehicles I've ever installed jammers on. I didn't use any covers and the sensors blend in pretty well.

Canada ranked #1 'most desirable' place to live in the world

Yeah "In 2019, total health expenditure in Canada was expected to reach $264 billion, or $ 7,068 CAD per person" https://www.cihi.ca/en/health-spending

Canada ranked #1 'most desirable' place to live in the world

Maybe life expectancy sure but regardless it would be good to see some updated material. That article is from 2012 and as most of the references are from early 2000s. I’m sure there’s been change, could be better could be worse lol
