Alabama increasing state troopers on highways

I left the Birmingham Marriott at 5 am this morning going nw past Memphis. There were reports on Waze, but all I saw were two sets of blazing lights on the opposite side of the road. It was too dark for me to tell what was going on. There were no radar alerts. I might mention that the previous...

Thinking of running a V1G2 12 thousand miles comparison vrs R7.

So how often have you seen that particular technique used in that general area? I ask as a ‘totally uninterested bystander’ who happens to be driving through that area tomorrow morning. Fortunately he was using C/O and there was plenty of advance warning. I do wonder about Waze because the...

    Atlanta construction this week

As I mentioned in the OP, I used both the factory G05 nav + Waze and neither one caught the construction problem. I thought there might be a local announcement about various roads closed down. There was a sign off to the right that said something about the weekend, but vehicles blocked my view.

    Atlanta construction this week

I started the morning in Montgomery and take I-85 north up close to the SC state line. I got a taste of what the GHP was up to, but I lost more time on construction in the northeast section of ATL then an accident outside ATL. I will leave Greenville Tuesday morning on my way to Birmingham...

Alabama increasing state troopers on highways

Drove I-85 north from Montgomery up to SC state line. Two threats just outside Montgomery then nothing until the hits before and after Atlanta.

Thinking of running a V1G2 12 thousand miles comparison vrs R7.

While the liabilities of running more than one detector at a time are clearly documented, I have thought the advantage of two detectors is that one could catch a source that might be missed by the other detector. The specialists can clarify how that works beyond settings, locations, environment...

Alabama increasing state troopers on highways

Upthread I reported police activity on various AL interstates, but that was the Labor Day weekend. I thought maybe so many worked overtime that they could not field a full crew yesterday. I have three more runs on AL interstates and hope the same formula works for me.

Alabama increasing state troopers on highways

Drove from north east of CHA down to Montgomery - 59 then 65 - and encountered no threats today.

    Google Maps Reports

The first photo below is from my iPad and the second from my iPhone. Both were ‘navigating’ a potential route, but the reports are quite different which I may eventually learn about these settings. However, has anyone yet found a reason to rely on GM rather than Waze for police reports?

Alabama increasing state troopers on highways

I did the short run from south of Birmingham to north of CHA. I had 2 I/0s before getting to Gasden. The detectors went off well before any Waze audio Close to Fort Payne, my R360c started hinting what turned out to be at least 2 miles Up and down two hills before running into C/O on the other...

    Escort live IOS

I drove a few hundred miles today. When going through Memphis, EL alerted me to red light cameras at the same time a like feature added to my car did as well. Later when coming into Birmingham, my car gave me two alerts about speed cameras. EL did not give me an alert and the detectors did not...

Alabama increasing state troopers on highways

Today running MEM on to Birmingham on 78/22, I came upon three bad accidents and the first one had several MO state police and there were additional police at the other two wrecks.

Alabama increasing state troopers on highways

I did NLR to Birmingham today. In AL past Carbon Hill exit maybe 40 miles from Birmingham, I got late Waze reports about police. I look up at the overpass and see two cars with their lights on. One goes the opposite director, but the other way comes my way and picks up someone behind me. I had...

    Coming Soon.....

The general web would not be as safe as doing so in this thread since most monitoring this thread know how to manage such things. I remember previously that various FW upgrades for more than one vendor has posted first on RDF then the web.

    Coming Soon.....

I leave early Friday for 2 weeks and 2 days of driving. I have been thinking about leaving the R7 home because of all the K falses. Since the firmware will come out while I am on the road, is there a way to do the upgrade using an iPad Pro?

RL 360C and Valentine V1 Gen2 who has both and opinions.

I am curious how many posts gave direct answers to this post because speaking simply as a user of both CMs, I am less sure that R360c will be first to pick up at least Ka over the V1G2. I do not see my I/0 near my home, but doubtless will see it all when I run through 7 states soon.

    BT Connect Issues

When the V1G2 arrived, it was trying to connect to the LE. Then someone told me that I could force a connection to the G2 using V1Connect, but that setting had to be redone with every connection so I had the LE removed. I do not consider this a major issue, but just trying to give you more data.

    BT Connect Issues

Unfortunately, I have not paid close attention to this until I picked up the V1G2 and starting planning for the driving trip that starts next week. My guess would be that it has always been a problem with G2, but maybe 2 weeks ago I removed the old LE previously used with the original V1 to make...
