News about The PA Automated Work Zone Speed Enforcement System

Has anyone personally encountered this type of enforcement? I've cris-crossed the state multiple times in the past six months and have yet to see it. Did get nailed by Maryland's work zone cameras though.

Virginia raises Reckless Driving threshold to 85 mph

Ah yes I see, and he even cited the same article as me! I searched "Virginia 85" which you'd think would do the job but apparently not. Mods, feel free to delete.

Virginia raises Reckless Driving threshold to 85 mph

So I did a search and didn't find a thread about this despite it going into effect on 7/1/20...though I'm not surprised as the media didn't seem to make a big deal about it. But anyway yeah it seems Virginia has officially raised its reckless driving threshold from 80 to 85 mph. Makes sense...

    Texas question - Speed tolerance

Yeah I've heard the same. I'd consider that to be strict...most other states will give you PSL+14 grace on a 65+ highway. Heck PA state police will let you get away with +24 on most PSL 55 highways.

    Texas question - Speed tolerance

True. I was just surprised to find a more stringent screening procedure at a Texas airport as opposed to places like Philadelphia, Miami, Detroit, etc.

    Texas question - Speed tolerance

Thanks for the advice guys. Held it at PSL +9 and had no problems. Y'all Texas folks really don't speed much because I only got passed a couple times. Though traffic did flow 15-20 over PSL in reduced speed stretches around Austin and San Antonio. Saw a decent amount of enforcement on I-35E...

    Texas question - Speed tolerance

Haha, yes that is strict in my opinion! In PA you can drive right by a state trooper doing PSL+14 and they will ignore you (long as it's not an active work zone, snowy/icy, etc.). Just make sure you're tracking your speed via GPS and not relying on the accuracy of your speedo, because once you...

What is AZ like for speed enforcement?

Agreed. It has Virginia all the way down at 28th. 'Nuff said.

    Texas question - Speed tolerance

Hi everyone. Heading down to Texas tomorrow for a quick trip. Flying into DFW, driving to Austin then on to San Antonio before flying out of SAT. I wanted to inquire with you good Texas folks as to what are the typical speed tolerances are in your state (in other words by how much can you...

PA Turnpike trips - How to prepare?

The Redline does a pretty good job of sniffing these out, however with any less powerful detector I'd be wary. Also FYI PSP generally won't bother you unless you're doing PSL+15 or more.

PA Turnpike trips - How to prepare?

On the turnpike you will be dealing exclusively with PA State Police. Unsure of the legality of locals patrolling the TP but have never encountered it in ~15 years. To my knowledge PSP run exclusively K-band. There have been disputed rumors for years on whether they also use Ka. You will...

    K-band in FL?

Thanks for the tips. Fortunately it was smooth sailing in the Sunshine State. Kept K-band off on the highways for the most part but activated it on local roads. No hits. Plenty of Ka hits from FHP, no LIDAR. Rode from WPB up to St. Lucie (I was not driving) and boy you were right, that section...

    K-band in FL?

Calling all Florida folks! How often do you encounter K-band in the Sunshine State? Particularly Southern Florida. Going to be driving around the Ft. Myers/Naples area, down to Everglades City, continuing on 41 over to Miami, down to Key Largo, up to WPB, then back to Ft. Myers via...

Ford cop cars through the years

The CVPI's seem to have really disappeared over the last year or so, at least around PA/NJ. All you see now are Tauruses, Explorers and Caprices. Though rumor has it CHP plans to keep their Vic's on the road for as long as they can.

NJ Parkway: Enforcement Surge? (Ghosts, Unmarked, and Marked)

Were those Chargers locals? Didn't think NJSP used Chargers.
