More than once I have seen boxes tipped over or spray painted.
From time-to-time on SB I-270 as you approach the construction of the new Watkins Mill Road overpass and exit there is a white Jeep equipped with PoliScan on the right shoulder behind the Jersey wall and partially obscured from...
While I cannot prove what MD does not use, I can describe what I have seen them use.
PoliScan is common in Maryland's DC suburbs. The "fixed" roadside units are moved around every few weeks. They are "fixed" in that they are in steel boxed spiked to the ground.
Some PoliScan units are...
That's the fundamental question: why do these programmed systems presume to know what it is that I need to do? Boeing is grappling with this on the 737 Max 8.
I drove a 2019 C class M-B last year as a loaner car while my car was in the shop. I opened the driver's door while moving slowly in...
I don't get to PG or the Eastern Shore that much. I'm mostly in Montgomery and Frederick counties, and the I-95 corridor north to Delaware, and my concerns are Ka mostly Lidar.
X-band...Wow!
Happily the connections between the RG-58 and PL-259 are soldered, and the fittings are bright. I tuned the stick for mid-band, and on channel 19 the SWR meter barely kicks off of 1:1. Reception is just fine. I guess I'm GTG. Sadly, the powered mic on my 1976 vintage Motorola MOCAT 4020 died, a...
Now I'm curious whether my 40 year old original K40 antenna with magnet mount is obsolete. It's served me well for millions of miles, but if there's newer, meaningfully better tech, I may be in need of an upgrade.
Double tap.

Indeed. The constant auto zoom that I was unable to turn off started when I downloaded and installed version 1.47. That's why I think the app was corrupted during the download/install process.
Epilogue:
For a few weeks starting right after I installed Waze version 1.47, I was frustrated with the apparently new auto zoom feature, over not finding anyone who experienced the same thing, and not finding a workaround. Thanks to all here who tried to help me out!
Finally, I took a shot...
Thanks much. I'll give your suggestions a try, but my only change from what I have now is the ad preference setting.
My goal is ZERO auto-changes in zoom, whether I am at top speed or drawing to a standstill.
It's ironic that when I draw to a stop, I don't want zoom, I want max distance so I...
I just pinged our IT guru who told us to hold off on 12.1.4 due to reported connectivity issues. I shall have to stick with 12.1.3 until I receive the all-clear.
In fact I do, as passenger and pilot.
We can parse this to the Nth degree, but in summary, I have a preference, not a hard and fast (and unattainable) requirement, for evidence in support of a conclusion, rather than a conclusion offered without supporting evidence. Bear in mind that if I am...
Yes, but it is a question of degree. If given a choice between putting faith in a reasonable sounding explanation that appears to justify a conclusion, versus just a conclusion with no explanation provided, I'll take the former.
