I ordered the V1 Gen 2 detector yesterday I also ordered the 'old' V1 concealed display with ESP (should have taken a snapshot of the details on the web site in hindsight, before they updated it this morning).

Anyway, I have some questions about the concealed display compatibility:
1) Is the 'old' concealed display, which I ordered yesterday, fully compatible with the V1G2?
2) Trying to understand what the new concealed display will offer for the V1G2 that the old concealed display does not do / doesn't support?
3) What does this mean (should I be concerned): NOTE: This “attachment” is used with a 2-Port Lighter Adapter (like that supplied with V1 Gen2). It cannot be used with Lighter Adapter, Item 20304.

Below pasted directly from Valentine Radar site:
Concealed Display
Available Later in 2020
Tired of other drivers crowding up behind so they can live off your detector warnings? Or maybe you just prefer to keep a low profile. Here’s a remote display that partners with V1 Gen2, moving all the visual warnings to a location of your choosing while V1 Gen2 continues on duty in the dark mode.
The Concealed Display may be attached directly to the Lighter Adapter (see NOTE below). Or you may mount it anywhere using self-stick interlocking fasteners, then connect with the power cord (included) to either the Lighter Adapter or Direct-Wire Power Adapter (both included with V1).
Mute and Mode selection are controlled by the Control button on the Display (On-Off and Volume adjustments remain on V1 Gen2).
This compact module measures only 1.0-in. H x 2.5-in. W x 1.2-in. D. Weight: 1.0 ounces. Satin-black finish matches V1.
NOTE: This “attachment” is used with a 2-Port Lighter Adapter (like that supplied with V1 Gen2). It cannot be used with Lighter Adapter, Item 20304.
Includes: Concealed-display module; Power cord, 8-ft.; Power cord, 3.5-in.; Display-module backplate (for mounting); self-stick interlocking fasteners; articulated bracket for mounting to the ‘2-Port Lighter Adapter’.

The old CD is compatible with the new V1 Gen2. The only thing I've noticed that doesn't work the same is the strength meter. The new V1 only goes up to 6 dots max and so even though the old CD has 8 dots for signal strength, it will only show 6 dots for a full strength alert. Otherwise it will work if you want to use it in the meantime before the updated CD arrives.

If you just ordered the old CD, call back and cancel it and wait. Or, ask them to hold that portion of the order, but get an ETA.
Thanks. I may keep the old one (and sell it later), since "coming later in 2020" for the new one doesn't sound like it is imminent. Let me call and ask for ETA of the new one and decide. I will share the response here for the benefit of others.

Thanks Vortex! So the only differences between the two concealed display versions are the strength meter (you noted above) and, as one can see from the rendering, the more modern look and feel of the new concealed display (to align with the V1 G2 look and feel).
I may keep the old one for now.

I have a custom CD... so I don’t think I’d want a new one...

I hope the new cd is wireless/bluetooth
It would need a battery then... I don’t mike would do that... I bet it’s just powered via RJ11

Per a phone call with VR, they do not currently have an idea of ETA (at least not the friendly representative I spoke with).
The representative mentioned something about they are still working on software (etc.), assuming that makes sense.

Going to keep the 'old' concealed display I ordered for now (Item 20110).

Lack of volume buttons is interesting... didn't the old CD still have volume controls or am I wrong on that?

You're thinking of the remote audio adapter.

I just saw a comment on a new concealed display coming soon, nothing about OLED?
I was thinking about it, and it occurred to me that while it goes against everything he’s done in the past, if MV really wanted to make some extra money he could offer a separate concealed display model with just a screen and a mute button. Screen provides frequency, direction, and strength alerts. Those who cry about not trusting a detector they don’t own because they don’t see the frequency can pop for the extra add-on. The haters will switch from bemoaning the lack of frequency display to bemoaning that you can have it but have to pay for it, even though they paid more for less when they hopped on the R7 train. Complain complain complain endlessly.

Bonus if it included GPS... "standalone eSavvy" lol. Although at some point I guess its cheaper/easier just to buy a separate android phone and get the full JBV1 experience.
