Hi, all.
I encounter this LEO almost on a daily basis. He always runs C/O and his unit is probably set to max range, because it always seems to detect him from far away. Anyway, this was an early brief detection (0:05) - front arrow, as expected. After my RD picked up the signal again, I did not initially look at the display, but around 0:58 I noticed it was showing rear arrow for few seconds, then switched to front. When I got the full ramp up (around 1:07), the arrow showed sides and it kept it that way almost until the end of the alert, so there was definitely a delay in directional transition. But it does that with this LEO almost every time. I think the signal strength overdrives my detector...

You said you pass him every day so he may just be going from point A to B and not caring about traffic enforcement. A lot of LEOs just leave their radar transmitting 100% of the time.
Quite possible.

Who says range isn't everything. Damn good early sniff! Thanks for the video.
Definitely. This is the kind if early detection that could be a great save if it was I/O...

You are very welcome!
Yes, there are days I get 3 - 4 alerts just in 30 minutes drive to my work or back. Most of those encounters however are not worth posting.

@milkman, thank you for your feedback here! Very well said, and it does motivates me to keep sharing my encounters. Sometimes I think I post boring videos, but you are correct - it's the content we all share that keeps this place great!

Thanks, @Kennyc56! I am really enjoying this RD and have no regrets. In fact, I am enjoying it even more since I finally (about 2 weeks ago) hardwired it and have no cables hanging down the middle of my dashboard. I also added a kill switch, so I can shut it off at will.

@Marty K does have a lot of great radar encounters. The LEOs haven’t been as active lately in my area, or maybe I am just not traveling when they are out doing enforcement.

I also enjoy seeing these encounters. Sometimes a .5 of a mile detection is just as great as a 2.5 mile detection as every radar encounter is different. There are so many variables that can have an effect on warning range.

It is great to see how different detectors perform, and I find these real world videos helpful especially if I am considering buying a particular detector that is on one of these videos. These videos are also great to get other people’s opinions on an encounter if you are not sure if your detector is performing like it should (which is not the case for @Marty K because his R7 is a beast IMO).

I agree with @milkman , everyone keep posting the videos as I know I enjoy seeing them.
