I use a Redline EX or R3 right now. R3 (Uniden) superior on range but not by much and EX , once you have it set up properly works great for Ka and Ka band. Not too much of an Escort 360 or 360C fan, but the K false rejection is good as is the Defender database. Settings: Ka band segmentation of 2/5/8/ ON and the rest OFF, RDR OFF and K band narrow.

Mining in the DRC!
I have driven plenty of times in Chicago with my R3. If you use all the filters you should be set...

Why not run JBV1 as a stand alone app? It's got everything right there, it's free, and you can update it with user marks including variable distance alerts for everything from redlights to speedcams to potholes.

Until Theia arrives JBV1 + V1 combo is the future, now.

I live in Chicago, North Side. I drive out every morning and back in for about 50min one way.

I run the Pro M in default settings, except I turn frequency display on, MRCD on (in case it pops up here), MRCT sometimes on (for the speed cameras), and MR Filter on high.

Couldn't be happier, and I've tried them all. Nothing is quieter setting for setting IMHO while working so well. It's still not a perfect RD of course, but I'm very happy with it.

I have a Redline EX, R7 and Max360. I use the Redline EX 90% of the time and it's pretty quiet as lockouts in place. If I take a Holiday drive with everyone on the road then I'll switch to the R7 as too much BSM falses for the Redline EX to handle due to it's analog filtering. Max360 basically collecting dust as I trust the other 2 more especially on range. KA I run 2,4,5,6,8. R7 I mount under the rearview mirror since laser scatter pickup not likely on it and height is good for arrows. Redline EX I mount low just clearing wiper blades slightly to the left of center as no rear arrow to worry about and laser scatter pickup is possible with 4 front diodes.

I just acquired a redline ex, and so far it is working wonderfully in the northern suburbs of Chicago such as Deerfield Illinois.

I've run v1 and R7 recently.. I drive in the burbs only. In Schamburg MRCD is hot mess goes off constantly the traffic lights are using some sensors in them. But for redlight cameras R7 and Waze alert me.

I live right outside of Deerfield, I’ve noticed most of the Towns around here are just C/O KA band. Though in Highland Park I have gotten hit with K band IO before

I live in Northbrook, so consider us neighbors bud. If you would want to ever meet up for testing or something just let me know, as I just acquired the pl3 lidar gun by Kustom Signals.
I'm in Glencoe, not a place I ever recommend speeding through. I might have to hit you up on that once I get some ALPs on my car

Omg I know, on Lake Cook going over the bridge into Glencoe the cop is always running Pop Ka Radar. Now that I have the new v-1 detector I have nothing to worry about.

Myself I got the TMG a15 jammers installed and they work great tbh.

Watch out for Dundee road too, come over that bridge there's usually an LEO near there, also on Green Bay road, pretty much all of glencoe is a center turn lane and they'll sit right in the middle of the road. Even seen them sitting in the driveway of my apartment building a few times. Quiet little town nothing better for them to do.

By the way, you notice any towns using LIDAR around here? I've only gotten hit with it in North Chicago on 41.

Yes I forgot to mention Dundee, it is heavily patrolled both by northbrook and glencoe. Only town I know of is Vernon hills and buffalo grove police.
