Escort 360c locking up.

I’ve been using an r1 and a max 360c for a while now together, one runs city other auto.

Before we get started I HAVE HAD NOOO ISSUES RUNNING BOTH. . .

Tonight I was coming home and my r1 went off with 24.174 my 360 dead silent then I saw the cop driving the opposite way.

On another note

24.196 is a signal the police use around here.
I saw the cop he turned it on full blast out in the country, (no Walgreens) and the max360 went off then auto locked it out, I mean I get he was setting still but good night, don’t lock it out if this is the first time it’s went off

I doubt you have no issues, the R1 certainly can cause the 360 to park on the R1 LO signal and miss other signals or cause a reduced alert. I see some weird things with a remove M3 and the R3/R7 that are separated by the hood.

With that said, without another detector, a known source or your own radar gun its hard to test the 360 for sleeping. It is very frustrating when it is sporadic with no error messages. At least you have the R1.

Its always possible the 360 is sleeping, what version of firmware are you on? Do you have all the segments for K band enabled, etc? Have you received any error messages, like Check FR.

What kind of Car do you have, there are a few with BSMs at that frequency and perhaps the 360 was filtering out a BSM signal that was close to that frequency.

Try the 360 by itself against known sources or borrow a radar gun - but the sleeping comes and goes. When mine was sleeping, sometimes when I was connected to live the speed limit froze also. I would go from a 65 to 55 and then 45, but it would still show 65 and not alert. I could rarely verify it was sleeping without my Stalker or the Stir Plus. The eventually resoldered the board on min and so far no more sleeping that I can detect.

Other than that you may have to send it in for them to check it?

I am on 1.11, and every K, Ka, and laser on. Only thing that is off is pop and Xband. .
I have a 2005 mustang.
No error messages have ever came up on the detector.

It did this to me one other time coming back from Knoxville, 33.6 r1 blaring! 360 dead silent I went to restart the escort 360, and it took longer than normal to shut off and restart, thankful for the R1
It was then on 1.10

One more story was with my max 1, 3 years ago, (this has happened with my max 360.)
Driving to work at 4:00 and I went through a zone that the detector auto locked out, when I got passed the lockout zone I looked at the detector and it was still full bars then I saw explorer lights coming up super fast behind me radar was still full blast outside the lockout zone. . . Then the cop puts on his lights and blows past me! I’m thankful he got a call because I would have been screwed.
I’ve seen this with moving and sitting cops, it’s not able to read more than one of the same signal.

What you are describing can be the result of interference. Interference is difficult to notice the vast majority of times it happens and it pops up periodically and randomly. Its more like a WTF just happened moment than a clear indication of the detectors parking on each other - or trying to filter each other out and raising the noise floor for all other alerts.

I was able to see my Magnums and Redlines messing with the Stir-O or Plus after running them together since 2008 - and those are considered much more stealth and farther apart than I suspect your detectors are. I could park in a certain spot in my garage where they would alert to each other with segment one enabled. Who know what was going on in the wild with all the other signals the detectors are trying to filter.

2 windshield detectors in the cabin is a certainly a risk for interference - its your risk to take, just be aware some things like this can and do happen and you might go 2 years before you get the right conditions for it to happen again .

Thank you for explaining this! That helps a lot! When I ran the 360 k and ka on and the R1 just ka on it seemed to be a great combo...

I dont know if it was interference, but think you would be a little safer running a remote and a windshield mount. I just run the Plus with Ka and sometimes use the NR also. If the Max 1 and the 360 did not alert near the same time I would suspect interference, they are close in their detection abilities, not counting mfg variances.

You could pick up a cheap 9500ci or Plus and just run Ka. If you have an ALP, they connect fairly easily.

Now I always figured that it had something to do with the updates the max always false alerted more than the 360 running by them selfs, but it was when I put them together one or the other would false to different signals but when they both went off, their was always a live signal around somewhere.

One other thing is escort working on a way to pick up 2 k band signal to know which is the lockout and which is the cop?
