There have been a few reports of people in the NYC area getting hit with DE it's not super common but it's definitely possible.

Don't forget to check Nassau/Suffolk County contracts. They sure love to hide on on-ramps on the LIE

In looking for CMs, I was doing research on what the troopers would be using in the next few years in Long Island, which is patrolled by NYSP.

See the following, it seems that dragoneye was awarded a contract or at least approved for NYSP procurement.

can anyone shed some light on this?

If you look at the last few years of contracts, Laser Ally and Dragoneye guns have been on there for a while. Since 2014 I think

However from my understanding, there are some clauses in the contracts from Dragoneye related to who owns the software and that dragoneye can decline service at its discretion and refuse to sell further units and parts as they wish. They are also a smaller company with the possibility they might go out of business, so they are not a "preferred" vendor.

The NYS purchasing department does not like those contracts - NYS specifies they own the equipment and can do as they want with it and that they even have a department that services radar and lidar units for the various state agencies and municipalities. I am not aware of any purchases at this time by the State Police.

With that said however, its just a matter of time before a new gun come out from stalker., LTI or Kustom - so I would recommend not worrying about the guns and make sure you have the best defense that you can reasonably afford.

You might have to refer to the master contract for the main items, but Here is part of the actual piggyback contract the Lizard himself signed: https://online.ogs.ny.gov/purchase/spg/pdfdocs/3820723163TC_DragonEyeTechnology.pdf

Wow, great wealth of information on contracts.

@PY004,do you know if it was ncpd or NYSP? I’m usually on parkways which is NYSP.

Everyone is upping their game, it seems.

Haven’t installed my TMG VPR system yet, but any time I see a NYSP it’s usually CO Ka.

thanks for all the info

That was the Old Brookville Police Department. But I've had DET hits from NYSP (once, not sure if it was a false), NYPD (3 confirmed hits), and NCPD (8 confirmed hits, 1 false)

thanks

What are the falses from? Are you calling unconfirmed (no visible leo) falses?
