Have to look at this from the other side of the fence as well. A business selling detectors could be quite a difficult thing. It's not like consumables such as food, toilet paper, water, fuel, ect where items are used up quickly and the customer is back for more a week later. Cigarettes and coffee are great consumables as well. People loose their shit without them.
I see detectors as a single purchase every couple of years type thing. You get a good one and ride it out as long as possible until the gov change their equipment and you're forced to upgrade (pretty much). Definitely takes the right person to sell this kind of tech, and the knowledge is crucial to understand and explain it to others in a simplified way. Would be customers getting angry at the lack of performance of some detectors due to them not understanding and buying the wrong one for their needs. Detector stores would have their fair share of arguments quite often. I doubt it's an easy life in this area of industry at times. I can sympathise for that. It would suck on occasions.
I used to be a way more social person in my late teens until I got into retail. It killed it. Especially when you're pitching something you've no interest in or belief. So definitely some respect due to DGC as well when you think about it. I do have nice things to say, and for sure, let this counterbalance the argument somewhat and help see the bigger picture. Also makes us approachable should DGC decide to join the thread... coz we actually and honestly give a shit really don't we? (And I'm not being sarcastic! If we didn't, we wouldn't be here).

Yeah, customer service/sales is a sure way to put you off people.
It also brings up the downside of a quality product with no planned obsolescence. I've used V1's for 25 years or so, but that's only 5 detectors and 1 was a double up to use on my bike.
I'm loyal, but not very lucrative.

Agreed. Done and dusted. I could reply to the above, but we'll go round again probably, so round it up.
Deanoobaby, not sure where you do your shopping, but in my lifetime of experience there's usually a procedure to obtaining goods via purchase that people would be used to. It's usually uniform from store to store, but not always everytime. Anyway. Carry on...

Read through the thread.
Besides, this is an open forum and a thread that had died. You restarted it with a storm of abuse, and you're still flogging the horse.
Pack it in.

i did read the full thread to refresh my memory hense i noticed on post # 40 you only just joined in only soon after to bail out after your warning LOL

so before closing the thread (flogging the dead horse) and flogging the horse is somewhat different terminolgy

i think its only fair that your self and others have time to share persanal experiances ... after all DGC is still up and running to this day .... i wish i could say the the same for sauzzie but there he is running around the country in a project car . and not focusing on his future

so before telling me to stop it (pack it in ) look in the mirror

Nah mate. Why call Tim? So time can be wasted again.
Funny how I get a warning for derailing the thread, yet you sit there trying to roast me and it's all good aye!? Listen here mate. Enough of your crap. Stick up for your mate all you want. Bloke is talking crap much like yourself to customers.
Keep it coming mate. I enjoy taking up your time dickhead. See you on the next message.

You guys need to knock it off. This thread should have ended two pages ago. Throw the ego in the shitter and please listen to staff when they tell you to stop.

Please, remember we are on RDF for a common cause. Bickering among ourselves is highly counterproductive and adds unnecessary drama.

Locking.
