Wow, I’m happy, not happy to see it’s not only me having the issues with Tim
I eventually purchased the items I needed from Ross at SpeedSafe in QLD
Unfortunately since Tim is the Australian distributor, he still technically still gets the sale
I wish it had all gone to Ross who was great to deal with
It would be good from ALP if you could just purchase the controller from overseas and then just download firmware to your country but I understand why they do it

You actually can. On here in the classifieds, eBay and numerous other stores in USA and UK.
The cpu region thing is strange. Australia don't get TX heads as far as I've seen. So the old HW1 for pure jamming alone is suitable. I'm unsure if we are getting hw2 region specific CPU's if we can't buy the TX (can anyone confirm this? Maybe we do, as customers would want the most up to date equipment for the price paid). I was told by another company in Australia that USA CPU's don't handle poliscan. Unusual that in the ALP USA settings, there is a switch to poliscan detections and falses, but not encountering them, I can't confirm if it's SOLID for our region. Net radar may be affected and region based but someone else can comment on it.
We've used a usa CPU against a European lidar, and it has jammed it as well. I've been told Australian CPU's don't have the setting for unlimited jam time for testing either.

There's a few untested variables with region specific equipment that could be tried out. Would be interesting to pick them apart, and see what the deal is overall.

Abarth695 unsure if the is relevent

things would of been a whole lot worse if saun still ran Dont Get Caught (DGC) this was before tims days

i met saun as he sold me a vertical mount for a radar detector 6f days ...at the time i was also running antilaser G8 so yes we are going back a few years

i happened to notice while waiting in reception area they sold the antilaser G6 and i questioned him on it and bragged a little about my G8 and extra features compared to the G6

saun must of thought i was telling porkys about my G8
as he got on the defence and mentioned THE G6 IS BETTER AND IF YOU WANT YOUR SYSTEM TESTED while grabbing and waving his ultralyte in the air ... So this conversation then lead to the car park area !!

LOL the poor bugger his face was priceless when he didnt get his PT ... I was also releived becouse i had butterfly stomach before hand having my first one one private test with some one with a lidar gun

In regards to DGC
im sure there maybe some reasons ..i agree things could run better but having him to turn his back completly on a costumers is completly out of character
Agreed. Doubt it's ever a person/customers intention to go to town on a business which intends to supply a customer a product in any scenario. We've got a good community on here, and the forum is pretty much based on user experiences. We share the common goal and show support for each other, which is why some have recommended DGC and would be happy to deal with him as a local. They do actually get good feedback. More good than bad experiences. No idea what's going on lately. The guy that started this thread though, to have his equipment sit around for nearly a year is a bit rough.
Also have to consider the customers who spend $50 shouldn't be second class to customers who spend $3000 if that's the case. Sure, we all want to chase the big money, but you can get that in small amounts that equal the same in the long run. Not saying that's the case either in this scenario.
I was surprised to see this thread pop up actually, but let's talk about it and see what's up. Could be a supply chain issue outside of Australia or something? If so, inform the customer and be honest. Gets a business some good bonus points.

Be interesting if people buy systems from elsewhere. Think DGC are the distributors to other businesses, so it all comes back to them anyway. Maybe buy stuff through the other businesses and let them argue it out. See how things go if not keen on dealing with Tim and staff. Business to business be interesing how things are handled.

Ha! So what? People speak from experience and just want what they paid for. I couldn't care less if I joined yesterday. What's the difference at the end of the day? 2018 was a great year! Don't get your knickers in a twist over it.
There has been some long time lurkers on this site prior to joining and taking on an account.
What's the date someone joined the site got to do with this? Nowt!
For the record, looks like you joined in 2012 and you're still classed as beginner. Ha!
I got plenty of time up my sleeve if I want to drag it out long as I like.

Have you not actually read all of this thread?
You complain I've alot to say. Now you want it all repeated?
I can already see you're in defence, and making it a case of being the customers fault by the sounds of it.
More you reply, bigger this thread gets. Think about it, before you assure yourself that you're helping the situation out further.

Not the part that the crazy jammer inventer is from that superglues Led's in an aluminium case, that's for sure haha!
Anyone can use the word "Nowt". Doesn't make you English aye bro? And that doesn't make me a Kiwi either.
In business, it is also OK to fire a customer believe it or not.
Just remember the title of this thread and the fact I'm not the one who titled it.
I'm 100% happy to sit here and discuss it with you though.
What would you suggest to the original thread creator to smooth things over and resolve the issue? Obviously a disgruntled customer due to the experience he's had. I watched my mate patiently wait it out too. My mate didn't create a thread about it, but seems he didn't get as bad run around this fella got. I've also mentioned DGC has actually got some very pleased customers and reviews.
So what's going on here?

@Saussie @deanoobaby
I think it’s better you take your argument to PM as it is really not benefiting this thread. Let’s keep it friendly and not bicker amongst ourselves please. Thanks.

@winterbrew would be good to get your thoughts on DGC ?

its funny you didnt sound like a kiwi before hand aye bro ..ohh wait . Im a geordie so slang words is the norm so this makes both of unable to speak and type english correctly let alone type it

hey look i wont argue the fact that the OP had a bad run and yes he is fustrated hence the reason he posted he has nothing to loose now but people like your self dont need to throw fuel on the fire
i did mention this is out of character for tim to turn his back on a costumer and maybe there are reasons.... i dont know infact none of us know as there are allways 3 sides to a story

i did mention things could be better but i never will never turn costumers away from tim ....There is an old saying that the devil you know is better than the devil you dont ...tim has helped me out many times some of these times could of been qiucker than others either way my issiue has been resolved even i have to wait in the cue

Hi guys
By all means I didn’t want to start any arguments and being a businessman for over 40 years, heck I’ve made my share of mistakes
But one thing I would never do which was done to me, is string a customer on for a year, not return emails or phone calls and lastly tell them I would do something and then not do it.
Hence my recommendation and I’m only one person is to let others know how I was treated. I maybe the only person and slipped through the crack, but I don’t think so and certainly hand on heart I can say I have done nothing to warrant this type of treatment from Tim😊

I'm happy with that @dudeinnz. I've kept everything to the topic as much as possible until this fella attempted to side track it. For sure he can PM me if he likes. Doubt it will clear up the situation for the original thread creator either way. I don't knock anyone who wants to still do dealings with DGC. I get that, and I'm 100% fine with it. It's not my point I'm getting at. DGC seem to have done good by lots of people in the past. None of us know if there's personal issues or whatever in the background. Any normal human can understand times get tough on occasions. Abarth695 I agree with, mistakes are made in business and as we say in Australia shit happens sometimes. It's 2020 and online reviews and discussions ect are going to happen. DGC will read this no doubt. Take it as customer feedback and build on it. People will get over it in the end if it's a once in a while thing. Can't see it being carried around as a life grudge and people have alternatives if they are not happy. Hell... We're free to shop at Aldi, Coles or Woolworths depending how we feel on the day!

Never had any issues, although I have the luxury of dropping by in person.

Had one of my HW.1 CPU's die about 4-5 years ago (bad firmware update) within warranty, just dropped it off and picked up a replacement straight away. Never had to have anything else repaired or sent away.

My only comment is that you don't often get a response to e-mails, but many of mine aren't sales enquiries etc. Often Tim will call me out of the blue a month or so later.

Saussie is dead right. We had the same thing on a smaller scale living in Nelson. ZFG for customer service with one or two notable exceptions.
One thing was very obvious when I worked in the bike industry, when a business is constantly out of stock, or has long delays for product, it's often because their account is regularly locked by a distributor for lack of payment.
I have no idea if that's the case here.
