This algo update unlocks the transmit on legacy guns as requested. Please do not update on a non-vpr Cpu. This is for VPR Cpu's only.

Algo is on the TMG laser defender lite app.

Thanks !

If one was to update (not me yet), could they rollback? Steps to...?

Maybe this and JBV1 will be tested this weekend if weekend is good on my VPR @Kennyc56 / @WalterTheRadarWizard9999

Is there a way to seperate updates for VPR and non VPR cpu? I can totally see a non VPR user accidentally load this on their system.

It is OK if a non-vpr cpu loads the new algo. It won't make any difference.
Good to hear. Hopefully, that carry over to the non-VPR head will happen as well. to provide Dual, Triple, Quad heads and/or this fix to regular units.

@Ming, with that being said (latest algo makes the VPR head firing against all guns), I just want to confirm that there are no potential interference issues, as now spacing between G1/G2 transponders and the VPR transponder will be reduced by half???

I just updated mine. Honestly I am not going to instill the VPR sensor in my wife's car until it gets warmer out and have plans to travel with her car to Ohio and back to Illinois. I'm in no rush to install it yet. I just wanted this newer updated CPU and sensor to protect us when we travel. I am also waiting for the VPR to be tested on the forum and to see the results esp with this recent algo update.

Great news, thanks!

Just updated my non-VPR CPU to 8.10 and it went great! For some reason when selecting which BT device I was connecting to, my iPhone didn't label it as "LD" so I had to guess and connect to a random BT device and hope that was the TMG, but otherwise the update itself went smoothly. Oh, once the update was done, the CPU said update completed, but the app hung with the status bar at 100% and while saying not to disconnect which was odd. I eventually just force closed the app knowing that the CPU itself was done updating.

I love updating on the fly over BT! So convenient... :)

My VPR CPU update went without a hitch, literally about 30 seconds.

I can confirm head now fires to Ultralyte LR (legacy gun). There are 2 diodes and beam pattern is a + , one diode is horizontal and other one is vertical.

So I am seeing that people are updating original CPU, I know Ming said it's OK but why are they?

My question is... Is there anything new algo wise besides adding VPR head firing to legacy guns? I understood this new algo just for activating VPR head and added gun algos were in the works but yet to come... Yes or No?

I have both CPU's so is the old one at more risk by not updating than it is if I do?

I don't have any DE's on hand at the moment and no immediate plans for a bunch of laser testing, especially during the rainy season up here. :) I'm up for it eventually, but I'll probably wind up being late to the party on testing the VPR heads. Luckily there's a bunch of people upgrading and I'm curious like many others to see the community's results.

Algo is only for the vpr head activation. It is nothing new gun related.

You're always welcome to come up to Vancouver to test with us;) A group of us have done quite a bit with my DETC.

you might want to double check yourself. A few of us had a problem where you’d update and it would get hung up on 100% and I don’t think we were ever really sure if it all went through because the update looked like it was done but the current algo readout on the app said that it was the previous, not newest algo. Running the update a second time would for some reason go over smoothly.

not sure if we ever got to the bottom of it but I remember it was a specific update.

I thought I remember posting about it but here is what I think is the thread. I remember having the same problem and just having to update it twice in a row.
