Waze tells me that there is a cop up ahead along my route.

This part of the route is surface streets.

The only thought that went through my head was "this is different". Cops don't normally show up in this part, as in hardly ever. I should have been paying attention to the overall situation.

Apparently, over the course of human history, I'm not the only one to have done what I did.

What was that?

"Ran stop sign"

At the end of this particular section is a stop sign and how often do I roll through stop signs?

Depends on the intersection. If I can see for millions of miles each way, and it is obviously clear as I approach the stop sign, then I pause-roll. Since I have such a clear view, if I see anyone past a certain point on the cross street, then I simply come to a complete stop and wait for them. If my view is blocked then I stop and look as best I can, even if there is NO stop sign.

Well, from his perch, an elevated portion of the route, the motorcycle cop (had to be a moto dammit) can see across the way to the location of this stop sign (see screenshot below). This is what I meant earlier by human history. He was intentionally in that area so that he could spot those who roll through, which two others did as well a few minutes after me. (I hung out at where he stopped me for a little bit, to read through the ticket. Mostly I was looking for typos lol)

Now he also said I rolled through the u-turn, but from his location he cannot see that area. But there is always a cop to the right of that area, lights on, guarding the exit from Port Everglades and I suspect he told the moto. That, or the moto (rightly) assumed I rolled through lol.

SO PAY ATTENTION TO THE SITUATION IF WAZE POINTS OUT SOMETHING THAT IS OUT OF THE ORDINARY.

I already called the ticketclinic.

That is a tough one. I am sure most of us have ignored a warning on our well traveled paths. Good luck in court!
