Nice placement of the TX inside the Honda logo. Have you gotten this install tested?

Not yet. Hopefully I can soon!
What would be a good cheap LiDAR gun to purchase for testing?

Where are you located? Ideally you would want to test against the hardest guns in use in your area, which are unfortunately typically the most expensive. There might be a tester near you who can help you out.

I'm not sure about what's in use in your area in terms of laser, but I'm sure we have members that could help you find out that information. Also check the active testers page at https://www.rdforum.org/index.php?threads/94684/
I know there's at least one member listed in there who's from your area.

In terms of cheap lidar guns, Ultralyte and PL3 are good options but they are also very easy to jam so will not help you identify weaknesses in your setup or give you as much confidence as testing with a tougher gun.

Any chance you can move the heads up to that gap in the middle?

Hmmm.
The installer told me the Rx heads were placed here because otherwise they would be placed too near the TX head.
Perhaps they could be moved but not a good fit for this reason?

I agree with Smason. I don’t think your placement is optimal. You only need about 8” of spacing between a TX and a RX head so make sure the installer knows that. I’ve circled two areas which I believe are better options for your RX sensors. I have a similar front end and my sensors are in the red location with good results but green might be better if there’s room for them in that small gap. Right now they are very far from your headlights (a common target) and they’re gonna get destroyed by sand and salt being so close to the road. If you can’t move them permanently by the weekend then hopefully we can do a temporary setup to test some other locations.

The installer sounds maybe a bit misinformed about the requirements/recommendations of a setup like this. As mentioned above, moving them up will likely yield better performance, and it definitely won't be too close to the Tx head.

Nice install, I'm planning to run my tx in the honda emblem on my odyssey as well. With how small the front end is your coverage should be pretty solid.

Thanks folks for the comments
Currently this setup seems to be JTG on an ancient Ultralyte LR. (1998 MFG date lol).
Hopefully soon I can test it against something stronger and see how it performs.
Out of curiosity, how would this Ultralyte compare to something like a PLIII? Would that be anymore difficult to jam? Or would the next level in difficulty be something VPR?
