There was a moderate anount of westbound traffic that day. I don't think I would have picked it up if it didn't bounce off a few tractor trailers or other vehicles.

Dang, I've gotten a 3.5 mile detection at best. I did get a 1.2 mile 90 degree off axis detection over a hill once though: (to me this is more impressive than the easy shots)

I got a new windshield installed a couple months ago and have only had my v1 running since. It helps that lately I don't put many miles on my car. The v1 is really lack luster in the performance department compared to the uniden. I can't count on it with my terrain. I've gotten 2 second advanced warnings to CO with it. It really highlights to me how good the uniden really is. The v1 isn't a turd. I can't really rely on the v1, but I will cruise at 90 all day with my r3.

i average about 1.2 miles of range here in Arizona with my R7, thats against 35.5 from AZ DPS who thinks they are NC HP. in California i get quite a few miles of range in the desert against 34.7

What do you mean by they think they're NC HP? I'm from Texas, maybe I'm out of touch with the northern states lol

That North Carolina loves 35.5 I/O, so does AZDPS, they quit using 34.7 a couple years ago for some reason, I love 34.7 because its so detectable due to higher power levels.

I'm pretty spoiled where I live with 34.7. I have picked up 33.8 in Papillion and Gretna area in Nebraska, but have yet to see it in Lincoln or surrounding areas. No 35.5 hits either.
