Shout out to Radenso crew for shaking up the industry. Your new AI platform will without a doubt become the gold standard in this industry with everyone trying to catch up/copy you.

Legacy RD’s are going to become nearly worthless once your tech is on the market, anyone with a tiny bit of engineering background can clearly see that from the info you have released so far.

Your openness and engagement with the community is second to none, and will really help make this an unbeatable system once all us nerds start crowdsourcing data and tweaks.

Good luck and keep up the good work! Looking forward to the release glad i got back into the RD scene.

I totally agree that the Theia will shake up the market, but at its price point, it is not going to take over the market. As Theia technology trickles down to Radenso lower priced units, I think they will take more market share. But again still not dominate the market because most RD users are not on this Forum plus some believe K40 and $29 RDs from Walmart are worth buying/having.

Theia is also not going to make all other detectors obsolete as the Frequency Based current detectors will still work, they will just still have all their current drawbacks. Just look at Escort, Uniden, and even Radenso, as all of them have a Top of the Line RD available yet still sell lower priced less capable units instead of just only their best model.

Theia will make all Frequency Base RDs, as you said, being considered a group of their own and calling them Legacy is just as good a label as any. But again, Walmart will still sell thousands of $29 RDs every year to drivers that don't know better plus all so-called Legacy RDs will still work with their current drawbacks.

Fair enough, we are def. ‘hardcore’ users so my view point is biased for sure. Just super excited to play with this new tech. :)

The price will decide that. Not everyone can afford a high priced radar detector. It is not about the $29 Walmart detectors in my opinion, but the 200-500 dollar market. Very hard to speculate on the Theia price-point, but I am assuming it will be close to or in the 4 figure range.

Like you and others, I am eagerly waiting for the Theia to be tested by RDF users, definitely a game changer.

If it was not for rdforum, there is no way I would be running a radar detector company right now - so thank you. I learned so much here, and those things I learned directly drove product decisions that led up to Theia.

While Theia will be more expensive than anything else, don't think for a second that this tech will not trickle down to more affordable price points in the future as we recoup our r&d costs. The main BOM expense of Theia is in the RF section (we have more into our front end than an entire R7 or Redline EX costs to make). But don't forget that we designed this from the ground up to be modular. The motherboard, digitzer (ADC/FPGA), and RF front end are all connectorized. It should be pretty easy to come out with whatever variants we please in the future relatively quickly.

Theia will be the flagship of the industry and is expensive out of neccessity. We took a unique approach of "here is what we think a top end detector can be priced at, let's build as much performance as possible into this price point" instead of "let's make the most profit we can in this price point." When people do teardowns of Theia you will see what I mean.

But in the future, we will have less premium detectors (maybe no arrows, cheaper case, less range, etc) that maintain the core benefits of the platform (zero bsm falses and more range than Escort/Uniden) while aggressively targeting price points that benefit the consumer and hurt Escort. I would caution not to wait with baited breath for this - you know how we are with timelines (we won't be rushed, we will do it right - Theia comes first). But it will happen eventually.

This is transparency at its best. Besides, I need time to recover from the massive cashectomy inflicted by this holiday season.:cashwallet::omg::bravo::spazface::laugh::razz::supaburn:

100% agree. Please wait with bated breath. If everyone's got baited breath around here it's not gonna be pleasant.
