How many are running their Max 360 or Max 360c in Auto mode to quiet BSMs?

Do you run your Max 360 or Max 360c in Auto Mode to quiet BSMs?

Running mine in Highway, with TSR off. Haven't had a single false from any honda or caddi, much nicer than the EX in terms of falses.
Interesting, because on the latest fw for my 360, I get PTs from both.

hmmm, and i know Im not being affected by the sleeping bug, because I'll pick up locals along my route running K. I do have K-segged, but only K4 off. Which isn't what frequency Honda uses. Perhaps I've just been blessed with a good unit?

Hard to say. Since I have the Max 360-O, no K-band segmenting for me.

I may down date to 1.6 on my serial number 79 360 and see if I'm imagining things.

i just update may max 1 the other day and have noticed that it is significantly quieter with what i perceive is no loss of range. ive been running it in auto for several days now whereas i ran it in highway only before.
The Max I and Max II with the latest IVT update in auto mode is awesome on BSM filtering, there are no issues with lock up or sleeping either. I still think it is one of the best plug and play detectors around and it's a bargain at ~$250 dollars. I will not update to the 360/360c until they work out all the bugs on that platform.

How is reverting fw done? I seem to recall a post about doing this a while back but for the life of me i can't search it out. It was a third party app or program maybe?

Search for EFL (Escort Firmware loader) v 1.2. But you have to have the files for 1.6.

I don’t have a 360; but does Auto mode reduce K sensitivity down to 18-20% like Auto mode does on an X70? ( I have that)

to me that’s a significant range penalty. On an X70, I had no more than 2 seconds to react to on-coming moving constant-on K with both Auto and TSR on.

I did recent testing on the Max II, performance and auto mode should be the same.

I thought that you could not revert back to previous FWs on Escort RDs. Does that only apply to certain models?

That is what I normally do with my Max360c (run it in highway almost all of the time) since my local city’s officers use quite a bit of K-band mixed in with 34.7 and 35.5 Ka band.

I did run my Max360c in Auto within this past week in my city running some errands (with the family who doesn’t like the K-band noise - I don’t use GPS lockouts), and I had three decent K-band detections with plenty of warning ( Normally I just turn the volume down and run it in Highway when the family is with me).

I don't know anything about this software. But googling shows a old old thread about this software and the person flashed their unit down and it wouldn't alert anymore. Looks like it was risky at that time if you weren't too familiar with the process.

Things might've changed over time and hopefully others will chime in.

Might I also add, running in spec mode is a godsend. If i get an alert, check the frequency and react based on what it is. Most BSM/falses are pretty obvious based on their frequency. But sometimes you get the random Mazda running at 24.130, then it's frustrating, Sherrifs hover around 24.130, so better watch your butt during those times.

It's possible to go back to v 1.6 (the first fw with real IVT, but introduced lockups) for the Max 360 SN#79 units. The link to the files does not work any longer, however. Pretty sure Escort probably threatened him, and he took them down.

Ah, OK that explains it! Escort definitely does not intend for people to revert to earlier firmware versions.

On the x70, i pretty much considered auto mode to be like city mode. Id call it the same on my max 2 also since i won't use any low speed muting. Been saved too many times when i wasnt speeding but was about to step on it when alerted.

Think the auto really knocks k band down to not much. Im still using it in town but should really probly run highway all the time with the more k band I'm seeing. This thing is pretty nice on 34.7, but 35.5 is kinda a beast. Had a couple decent ones but a few shoddy ones. Have to do some research as to why 35.5 is so much harder to detect
