I can't wait until Radenso comes out with their latest detector, its absolutely mind blowing!
It's vaporware until I have it in my hand. This isn't the first "mind blowing" product I've seen...99% never make it to market and of those that did, most were a disappointment. Time, will tell.

If we treat Radenso like Uniden we will initially lift them up and parade them through town like the superior king of all kings. We will bow at their alter with offerings, sacrifices, and gifts. We will name our children after them and tell stories of their conquest. This will continue until one day one of their monthly updates gets delayed for 6 months. At that point our society will pull down their statues and burn all the books that showed they existed. We will curse them and proclaim how they were no better than our prior God.

Truth.

We live in a disposable society. A product or vendor is only as good as their next deliverable and can be shot down in minutes via social media. The problem is...there are many who don't use social and will never learn of the problems with XYZ widget so they rely on the shiny ad they saw online or in car and driver. They recognize the name brand as one they've read about for 30+ years and they buy the toy thinking "it has to be the best"

The vendors also understand this and they take advantage.

Call escort and they will tell you less then 10 percent have called them with this complaint.
Hoot crap that’s a HUGE number! Seriously, if 10% of owners are reporting, that would be staggering. It would mean the problem is way worse and more prevalent than we thought.

Let’s please treat each other with a bit of respect please. We can all discuss things like grown-ups. Stop the passive aggressive personal attacks on each other.
Thank you.

This is one thing I don't understand. I'd be too afraid of the lockup happening with someone who's not super savvy. An enthusiast might be able to tell that kind of thing quickly enough but I wouldn't want to risk it with a relative or someone like that. It may seem as though people harp on this one issue but it's a really really big one. This is the biggest reason that I won't run an Escort currently. I need to trust the detector, and the lockups have remained unfixed for far too long.

That's why, for the time being at least, I'd only go max 2 or redline. Seems like lots of people like the 360s but I'd always be paranoid about lockups.
Max 2 has decent range, filtering, auto lockouts, accurate frequency display(lately super important since ive been keeping track of for real k band), feels solid, looks decent. I'm happy with it and will rock it til theia comes out and udetermined no bugs and if i can afford it.
Had a x70 before this that was a pretty decent unit, was my 1st "nice" detector. The screens burnt from leaving it in auto all the time and did have to put a new speaker in but escort sent me the speaker free and found an article hereee hpw to change it. Still have for a backup but hope i don't have to use it, max 2 is way nicer. First was a cobra before that, detected ku band and everything according to best buy's display, it actually wasn't that bad of unit, saved me a few times, got pulled over a couple times too though not all the detectors fault. Still have it just for the sake of keeping it

And your older Max series OLED has not picked itself into showing only one color. :) My Max originals that date back to 2013 colors are vibrant. Not sure each RD maker that uses OLED, use the same standards. Some last longer than others.

Never thought to try changing the color and see how it is. I'll have to check that

My friend with the 360ci recommended the 360 and I saw first hand how much range that thing had. Knock on wood I haven’t had any issues with either of ours yet except for 2 “check FR” a couple of months ago that haven’t come back, but I’m still not 100% satisfied. I want an R7, but don’t want to buy one with Redensos new detector coming soon.

The range is not bad on the windshield 360 detector for straight ahead or behind.

It struggles on off axis and a cop can surprise you, but thats expected with the horn they used in this series detector. Other than off axis range it's a good detector.

If you need off axis then you won't be 100% satisfied with your detector

The 2 “Check FR” messages won’t come back. It doesn’t mean the problem solved it’s self.

It should be sent in as soon as you can to be checked.

I think the early stages of Escort, were cool. Escort was like the Gucci of radars at a time ago. But now, it doesn't really faze the other competitors. Now it's the walmart shoe section, compared to the Uniden of Gucci.

Sadly because people just make bad decisions and are slow to accept change.

I could go into this a lot more but I'd rather focus on positives. There's some interesting history people should be aware of, but that's for another thread I think.

At least you realize what type of company they are. It starts with all of us, and through time more and more will accept the reality of the situation.

For the record, I'm not immune to bad or misinformed decisions. Im as guilty as anyone.

If you live in the US support a NA company that actually manufactures in NA/US. Your choices: Valentine Research and Radenso. The V1 will be in stock again and Radenso will be releasing their new tech this year which is US designed and assembled/manufactured here. The tech in Theia will be state of the art and I'm proud to see that happen.

Support your fellow peeps, not the companies who are dishonest, close NA facilities, and poorly innovate or implement. There are no excuses to do otherwise, y'all know who you are. Step it up and support this community, your fellow CM users, and those in NA making quality products (duh).

I don’t have much to post here. I have fond memories of escort. Escort got me through the late 80s, all the 90s and through the first decade of the 2000s. Pre- BSMs, I loved em’. Now there are more options out there. I don’t actively use one now but I have my last purchase X70 as a backup. I have always thought escort’s detectors had better aesthetics and looked the best- appearance wise than any other brand. But it’s what’s under the hood that really counts.

I used Escort Max since it came out until about a year ago. After reading up this forum and looking at the options went for custom install of ALP and NetRadar which I use now.

The best way I can characterize new setup to Escort is... annoying. Escort had better BSM and user interface (indicators, alerts, buttons). It was quiet yet I had multiple real saves and never got a ticket. So it just worked. Didn't know about any problems with the unit or company until got on to this forum, which is kind of the point.

Have a friend who has the same experience with his new R7.

It's easy to put up a blanket statement that Escort is for uneducated ones but it's not that simple ))

Now you have done it. Labeling yourself as uneducated newbie who not knows of which he speaks. :) Thank You for posting this. I learned from what you posted. Please do not give up on RDF. Keep on contributing. Sounds like you have invested heavily in CM tech.

And that is why poor detectors still sell and make money. As long as its good enough to get a few saves, it can be nearly deaf on K-band, lock out the whole band for stationary falses, and people will be satisfied and call anything better annoying, no matter how flexible and programmable. Suction cup, power cord, go—and no room for anything more.

The hope at this point is that Theia will make a major leap forward in concept and execution toward that goal.
