Hi everyone
I’m still pretty green with all this RD tech.

I need help with getting my R3 to work the best it can in Melbourne, but I’m finding it difficult to get the right settings and even getting a database loaded to the unit.

what did you guys do to work for you?

You need the following settings;
K band wide to cover Redflex and Gatso camera's
KA 34.7, 34.9, 35.1
Other KA segments can be disabled.
@Mithheru can supply you with a current fixed camera database to go with US firmware.

I also have purchased a Uniden R3 from America and want to update the firmware. Whilst studying the internet for answers I came accross this forum as well as finding that on the site "Dontgetcaught Australia Radar Specialists" they have update downloads for : USB driver, FW, Speed Camera Database and Database update manager for an R3 detector. My question is if I use those dowloads will that update my unit to be able to use in Australia ? I just need a bit of guidance as I dont want to stuff the process up and get myself in the manure. Any help would be much appreciated.
