Hello guys. For the first time this morning, I hooked up my new Max 360c and went around town doing a few things. Before I went into the bank, I was in the parking lot and the detector went off with all 4 arrows and the letter "M" showed up on the left side of the screen with 24. something GHZ. I was weirded out and tried to focus the camera before the alert stopped but couldn't in time, therefore I got a bad photo of it. Has anyone seen this before? It lasted maybe 10-15 seconds before it disappeared. I have the new updated software which I did a few days ago, and forgot to disable MRCD. I'm located in Waukesha County Wisconsin which there is no MRCD here but I know an "M" doesn't show up for MRCD anyway.

Thanks guys!

The arrows lit up just like my actual MRCD hit.

When I’m running the display Spec F2, in the top right hand corner I see a small K when testing to K band alert.
Having an M in the top left hand corner doesn’t seem unreasonable?

I can’t see the 360 screen to well on my dash cam video, but the R-EX defiantly shows a big M when hit with MRCD. What makes you think the 360C won’t show an M? How do you know if you don’t have any true MRCD to compare it to?

Or

Who told you there was no “M“ for Multaradar when your hit?

I’ve included a shot of the K band alert while running Spec F2.

Since you were at a business that may use a k band opener, is there a chance there are other businesses around there running K band openers as well?

If MRCD was on, it could be picking up multiple openers and mistaking it for MRCD. This is a common problem with the Uniden’s when Multiradar is turned on.

I haven’t personally seen the 360C do this yet, but it’s possible considering.

I guess it's because MRCD is not known to be here in Wisconsin because every thread I've seen on it shows only a few places here in the states have it and Wisconsin isn't on the list. What else could the M mean? Everything I've ever seen is K, KA, and X. I've seen nothing that indicates what an "M" represents. I do have my detector set to Spec F2 also which I prefer.

could also be a false to MRCD... sometimes they do false to other kband like sources as MRCD.

I didn't think of that! There was a constant K rear alert first and then all 4 arrows came on with the "M" so that might have had something to do with it. Could be a one time thing, but guess we'll see if it happens again!

That’s exactly what I was referring to. Multiple K band signals in the area hitting it at the same time.

It’s true, you don’t have MRCD where you are, but if you have red light cameras, there’s a good chance they’re MRCT, which the 360C will not, or can not pick up.

I haven’t seen this problem with the R-EX, but that’s a different detector. The 360C needs a little more work on some of the bugs with this new FW release.

I think they can really make it good, if they reach out for help from us.

Outside of some things that bother me, I’m liking what I see so far. Not great, but not bad either.

The MRCD alert will trigger a 'laser like' alert with all 4 arrows flashing - and yes it will have the 'M' on the display - there is another member here who posted a video of a true MRCD encounter with the above mentioned alert.

Oh wow! Where can I find that video? I'd love to see it in action with a real MRCD encounter!

Ok good information. I also purchased a Uniden R7 for the second car but haven't even opened the box yet. I want to fool around with the Max 360c first but would like to run the R7 to see how that performs. I know it has better range and like to have a different type of back-up detector that's totally different. I know that one actually announces "MRCD" with the female voice and has arrows so I'm also thinking about the future. I saw Vortex's review on the Redline EX and he said there were a lot of false alerts so I didn't go with it. Apparently there's no perfect detector out there so far so I just got 2 of the best detectors according to him. Also got the ZW5 laser jammers to work with the 360c but it's too cold to work on the installation now since this is Wisconsin. Uniden R7 has the superior range but no laser jammers, but never the less I have both of the greatest windshield detectors on the market. I will have fun playing around with both!

That video was me.

I was heading towards it on the non enforcement side.

Tge MRCD rig is the white Ford F-150 on the side road. About 4 seconds near the end. On the left.

I was running around and wanted to see if I seen anything strange compared to the RC-M.

I’m going to get some actual MRCD testing when I can.

@Dukes and myself do a majority of the MRCD testing on RDF.
We do other stuff too.

Amazingly enough, my Cobra DualPro360 (Beltronics GT-360 clone) gives a directional arrow (and an 'M') like it would do for any other non-Laser signal.

And, I'm ashamed to say,, but after having reported that it uses the X band tone, then correcting that it uses the K band one - nope. I stand corrected again. It actually uses the Ka band tone :D
