Time to move up from my gaggle of V1's. Need Jammer to deal with local Dragon Eyes.
I know about ALP but need to know if there is some way to get it to work in conjunction with a radar detector.

ALP+netradar

that or any other custom installed radar system if you don’t want a windshield mount. Just know custom installed detectors are going to cost you a lot more.

If you want ALP integrated with an RD then either netradar or radenso RCM. Or you can find a good windshield unit and use that along with ALP. If faceing DE you will need a very solid setup, make sure to get it tested too!

A windshield mount is fine so I don't need a custom install.

ALP + Radenso RCM is also a great option, that’s what I’m running myself and love it.

Check out the link below if you need a recommendation:

Welcome to RDF! There are some great options for a windshield mount detector to run alongside an ALP setup. It’ll save you cash as well considering remote systems are much more expensive.

I've watched all the recent Vortex videos and have the impression the Redenso RD isn't the greatest. If I want the best duo, since I'm new to this forum today, is there a semi easy "go to" for this question? Also any hot shit shops in central FL that you long timers can recommend?

I don't mind having the RD exposed (not too keen on the jammer being vis), as I've been pulled over dozens of times over the years (I'm old) and most of them time Jonny Law doesn't care.

Which Radenso RD did you get that impression from?

I'd suggest using the above linked thread on asking for RD recommendations. We'd be better informed on giving you suggestions based on where and how you drive.

Also, "hot shit shops"? I'm guessing that's an accidental spell correct.

say that fast 5 times. hot shit shop, hot shit shop, hot sheep shot......

Personally, I use the Uniden R7 as it has the most sensitivity and range over all other windshield units, but that’s the feature that is most important to me. It may not be to you, and you may not need a detector with all that sensitivity. While it has the best range, it currently doesn’t have the best false alert filtering, and if a quiet ride is more important to you, you may want to go Radenso Pro-M for the better filtering for example.

The members here want to point you in the right direction, so while it’s easy to say, “yeah go buy the R7, it at has the longest range, so it’s the best,” range isn’t always everything to everyone. An example of that would be if you faced MRCD as a threat. Immediately I would recommend the Pro-M, as it detects MRCD reliably. The R7 currently does not. MRCD isn’t a threat in Florida if I recall correctly, just using that as an example.

There is no “one radar detector fits all” unfortunately. Filling out the questionnaire that Lucky linked is your best bet to get the best recommendation for you, where you drive, and how you drive.

First day and I already love this site and the excellent responses I've gotten. I didn't realize that was a thread up there so I'll do the recommended work. I've learned a lot already. Thanks guys.
