Yup, I see quite a few locals with laser enforcing the local speed limits.

I want to know why he's shooting lidar on a clogged stop-&-go street....next to a traffic light. Plus, I guess they don't have the same laws in NY like we have in Alabama. 50 feet from a corner is as close as you can park.

Locals were allowed to run radar since Vision Zero was created. At first they used hand held K band Decautur guns but now it's all PL3/4's.

Are you sure there is no more K band in use at all? I want (and need) to turn off K band in NYC but I'm scared because there have been numerous reports of post-Vision Zero I/O K band use by locals.

Nothing is stopping them from pulling out a k band gun from the precinct and using it. Personally I run k off in the city. It's a risk I'm willing to take. Just don't speed too fast on the local roads. On highways on highway patrol can enforce it and they're only Ka and lidar.

All of the locals I've seen enforcing on the streets have been using Pro Laser 4's. A hot spot is on Flatbush Ave heading to Jacob Riis Park and on Queens Blvd westbound by the mall right after the underpass. There is almost always a Taurus there tagging cars speeding in that underpass.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm currently working on getting parking sensors after which the PL3/4 will no longer concern me. As far as K band is concerned, I tried running with it on in Manhattan today and even in city mode the R7 is falsing almost constantly, so I'd probably ignore a real K band threat anyway even if I did pick up one. I'm just going to have to turn it off and take the risk on city streets as you are doing. I try to stay under 35 anyway for the speed cams (which keep multiplying) and I doubt any local would pull for less than 10 over if it's not a school zone.

By the way - from what you said, FDR Drive only enforceable by highway patrol, correct? No locals?

@omgboost I know you go on the FDR more than me. It's only hwy patrol on it right? That's all I've seen every time I drove on it

Sorry, not too sure about that. From the few instances I've seen on the south end, yes, highway patrol only. Have mostly been driving the West side highway recently.
