Hi guys,

At SEMA Escort posted on their forum that they use Artificial Intelligence. Obviously, that's not true. I contacted C level management at Escort and requested them to pull it down, and they instructed the post to be removed. This upset @EscortRadar, so he contacted the administration of rdforum and requested that I not be allowed to post in their section or they would not have a presence on the forum. The administration of rdforum complied.

Thus, this thread serves as an area where I can comment on Escort products while not breaking rules.

I would also like to openly invite Escort to a community moderated, live-streamed video discussion about the filtering of CW signals like the Bushnell and door openers vs. the Stalker and other police guns. Perhaps the forum can vote for which community member moderates it. I think it would be a really fascinating discussion, and I will bring one of our DSP engineers so we can have really informative discussion with visual examples.

Sometimes feelings get hurt. Thank you for having a presence on the forum. I am looking forward to your new product. For very selfish reasons, I hope the other manufactures take notice and they raise their own standards to give consumers options to choose from. The other way for manufacturers to deal is to just cry a lot, file lawsuits, and spend money on marketing (sometimes false). On the consumer end, we want the best product for the best price. I look forward to seeing who actually delivers.

So are you wanting us to delete the thread?
No, just saving you some trouble from other vendors from reporting it (even though they claim they are not vendors).

Do you intend on enforcing this rule across all vendors or just Radenso at the request of Escort?

Take the high road, Jon. Just my opinion. You as well as a large number of us believe these are two companies going in completely opposite directions. Not only in products but also customer support.

What was the reasoning for allowing escorts request? It seems both childish, and petty to even request that, if they wanted to fight out legal ramifications of lying in marketing, or whatever the issue is, shouldn't that be handled on there own terms, and not spread into the forum with specific rules?

I don't want a flame war between manufacturers, but limiting where vendors can post is strange to me. Especially since its a public area of the forum. Why are we honoring Escort's request? We already have rules in place that already prevent trolling and harassment. I thought this was RDF, not ERF.

When someone comes along and takes your front row parking spot that you’ve been parking in for years......well that’s bound to piss anybody off.
Well done and thank you radenso!

It sounds like this:

Escort: Waah.. Jon touched me, He cant come to my yard anymore.

Jon: Ok, I will stay in my own yard, and watch you from here.

Escort: Waah.. I'm taking my toys home..

Manufacturers can view their competitors sections but they cannot post in them. Vendors do not have this limitation. Escort was asking for something that was already being enforced.

I have a feeling that your question will go unanswered.

It wasn't honored, see above.

We didn't honor Escort's request, it was already a rule.

It's not like the cobra/escort presence on RDF is reflected by their useful post count ...
Sounds like someone wants RDF to be run like the escort forums....

What a ridiculous rule. Both Manufacturers and Vendors have financial stakes in the matter so why would one be prevented from posting and not the other?
They're both equally disallowed. Vendors are meant to apply to users like thinkware for example who don't exactly have radar detector in their arsenal.

Vendors such as bossdad are also prohibited from taking in sections they don't carry the product.

These rules have been in effect for a while now.

That was a glitch. All users already had their post counter aligned yesterday.

Ahh, that makes more sense, thanks.

Misleading statement. It was a rule already that manufacturers and vendors were not allowed to post in each other's section. A rule that was not actively enforced, but it was a rule none the less.

You made a couple posts that are technically in violation of this rule which Escort did report in an email that was sent to us. Since Radenso was in violation, Radenso was informed about this violation and advised not to post in such sections any further.

I've iterated before that I have no issue with you posting whatever you wished to do so outside of any other vendor section.

For transparency purposes, here's the mail received from Escort. They cited an example where the rule wouldn't technically apply as the manufacturers not being allowed to talk in their competitor section was a rule that originated out of RDT rather than a rule that existed under the previous administration. But none the less, Radenso was told not to post in Escort.

In violation of the RDF rules regarding manufacturers, Radenso reps have been posting in the Escort section of the forum.

Here is one example:
https://www.rdforum.org/index.php?threads/82894/

I look forward to seeing the rules apply to everyone.

Thank you,
Larry
