Hello everyone,

I am curious what would be a good forum to sell my escort 360c? I don't want to go through the hurdles of using Ebay and Letgo is fully of spam. I tried to list it on this forum but received a "permission denied" message. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Stick around, participate and soon you'll have access to list it here. Welcome to RDF!

Hey, we don't allow fresh members to post for sale here as a way of protecting our community against scammers and people abusing the RDF prices . If you participate a little, you'll be allowed access to the classifieds in no time!

Offer Up is Nationwide, but you can limit it to your community. As a sales/buying site, they seem to have more of what folks are looking for, than Craigslist these days. Best of luck on your sale. :0)

thanks. I appreciate that.
Yeah, sorry for any inconvenience. We value the safety of our members and especially their money so this is one of the safety precautions we put in.

Thanks for understanding! If you do participate, you'll get access in no time and there are some killer deals on there!

There used to be a way to purchase a premium membership to allow immediate access to the classifieds here. Not sure if that still exists or not.

Just a heads up, I've found that stuff here typically sells on the low end of the price range. Particularly Escort products (not a ton of Escort fans here). Great for buyers, but as a seller, its probably worth selling on eBay to get a few extra bucks.

That is no longer an option.

Just speaking from personal experience, but Offer Up is horrible. I tried Offer Up as an alternative to Craigslist and always had issues. People will accept offers and then not ship, won't respond to messages wanting more detail (serial numbers, IMEI, etc), and there's fishy stuff with items being marked sold then relisting them a few days later. I've only bought one thing and the situation was a bit off and still concerns me a little.

I used E-Bay years ago and got burned. This was when the iPhone 6 was a hot commodity. I sold it, shipped it, as described, and later had a claim opened up. PayPal debited the funds and told the buyer to send back the phone. The SOB switched his broken iPhone for mine and I lost both the money and the phone. I never sold on E-Bay after that. E-Bay and PayPal offer little to no coverage for the seller.

Sorry to hear about your experience on Fleabay. As stated through interaction with the forum you will open up different areas that allow you to do such things such as buy and sale on our classified section. Just don't post pad your way there.

Ebay is not bad, I think you can limit sales to members with a certain rating? or if you sense something dodgy is going on remove bids. Yes Paypal can be "bad" at times, but take photos of everything, serial #s etc so you have proof. State on your auction no returns/refunds.

Like with everything there are always people trying to make a quick buck or defraud you.

I tried to buy a phone earlier this year off e-bay -- paid over $400 and never received it. This happened with a power seller. I couldn't get any messages through to save my life. I ended up disputing the charge with Chase. There are also a myriad of fake products on Ebay. Ebay today is like shopping in a Hong Kong flea market.

if you’re into the apps, letgo worked for me. But the classifieds here are a good place although most buyers are going to be looking for a good deal

You could try to sell on Craigslist - cash in hand of course for the buyer.

A friend told me about LetGo -- but says it was a waste of time since the entire site was proliferated with bots and flea market offers. In other words, you try and sell something for $300 and the parasites will offer you $100.

I've sold/bought multiple detectors on here through the years without any issue at all. You may not get top dollar on here, but selling/buying without the headaches that other outlets can give you is worth it.

Plus, your selling to a great community and I always think of it as "helping" another person on here out by giving them a better deal compared to eBay or some other selling site. Welcome to the forum!

thanks. I am in no hurry to sell it. I have two other units. But radar detectors are necessary since the state is always looking for ways to rob the public.

There exists a general classified section? (Like apart from the official vendors section) I didn’t even know...
