What's Stinger up to?

So, with Stinger's lack of progress on firmware, and release of the Freedom which doesn't seem to have had a whole lot of updates either. It got me to thinking, what might a next generation Stinger system look like? Given the jumps in raw processing power of ARM and MIPS architectures, what could be possible?

This comes a little off the back of what Radenso have just showed off at SEMA.

I wish they were up to more. It would be nice to have more competition at the ultra-high end. Kind of wish they had ignored laser and perfected their radar platform before delving into the world of jammers.

Despite the fact I have Stinger laser, I have to agree with that.

They did have lots going for them. Still I’d love to see them competitive with both in the future.

I think with the latest 2 software updates, the BSM filtering is better than before. I hardly have falses

Yeah but you’re in the Netherlands but in the US Stinger doesn’t seem to do well when looking at this forum. Do you had the opportunity to test also in Germany or Belgium btw?

Australia here, it's a lot the same with BSM, it is a little better with the new firmware releases but still has a very long way to go.

Right now KA is acceptable but not outstanding as you might expect with an RD as expensive as Stinger, still no useful detection on Redflex.

Interesting, I can absolutely not complain about BSM falses. My VIP is on 4.4.16 and has maybe 1 false every 300km. Still not on the same level as my Genevo One M, but for the sensitivity it delivers for MRCD I cannot complain.

When the Aussie’s talk about Redflex, it’s a company that operates in Australia and uses radars that are produced by ADG systems in the UK

Specifically

They are a nightmare radar and progressively get worse every new generation, stinger has made very little effort to combat this radar and showed no interest in getting it resolved.

Given this radar is produced in the UK and used in the UK, it’s only a matter of time before it’s rolled out into other areas of Europe, hopefully then stinger does something about it.

The day a radar detector company produces a product that can combat this radar, is the day I will get interested in CM’s again, till then it’s of no interest to me

It was recently announced that they will begin using Redflex in Pennsylvania so its making its way to the USA as well.
Radenso's upcoming Theia might do well against this threat, especially if using the whitelisting mode for K band as it should be able to confidently alert to a very weak signal. @Jon at Radenso have you done any testing with the Redflex cameras?

Nice to see you online again @Shanetrain.

I understand your frustration, well.. Especially with how much effort you put into unlocking and understanding Stingers inner workings, not to mention logs and trying to work with Stinger in general, only to find lip serviced paid for your efforts.

Once in a while I'm still asked for more logs on Redflex, so something no matter how small seems to be happening, though still just not good enough.
