So I'm kind of old school. I drive mostly Pa to NJ and do 20,000 miles a year. Should I bother with JB???

I've had V1 near forever. I can't remember when I had fuzz buster II, whistler, escort, passport, etc. I drive very aggressively on the highway but haven't had a radar ticket in a while. In fact if I get a ticket in NJ it doesn't even count in Pa. (stillno sharing of info state to state).

But I am a gadget freak. What benefits would I get with this app/ Thanks in advance

Newer V1’s support using a bluetooth adapter that you can purchase from Valentine Research.

With the bluetooth adapter, you can now connect your phone to the detector. This enables you to now use apps such as V1Driver, YaV1, and JBV1.

These apps add additional capabilities to the V1 such as more intelligent false signal filtering, auto lockouts of stationary false signal sources, and etc.

This really is starting from square one. Spend some happy hours in the JBV1 forum, see if it's for you.

That could really help me. Where I travel there are scores of radar enabled speed signs. Put there to let drivers know their MPH. If I could learn to block them out it'd be worth a lot to me.

@rebait1 - Can you tell us what make and model of phone or tablet you're planning on using with the adapter?

You will most likely want to get the V1Connection LE for iOS and Android. As long as the phone you're using supports BlueTooth Low Energy, then it is the one you would want to be using.

Let us know the make and model and then members here can confirm for you from experience.

If your unit does not say "ESP" then you will need to get one from Ebay. Then you will need the LE Bluetooth adapter. I live in NJ and drive in PA with JBV1 and it is night and day compared to a regular V1. There is a learning curve with a ton of features and setup to do.

Yes. Depending on whether your cops use K band or not, you could box mute those signs out, you can mute side and rear alerts, you can use Quiet Ride, and there are various time/strength mute options.
JBV1 is a Pandoras box of goodies.

Hey @rebait1 I travel from NYC-Philly all the time and use JBV1 every time. I have it setup to change profiles once I enter each state - for example... when I get into NJ it will automatically set the V1 to X-KA only, then when I enter PA it changes to K-KA only. The cool thing about the app is that you can set individual rules for towns as well so in NJ when I go off the highway into townships it will change to K-KA instead of X-KA.

The lockout feature is good although I can utilize it more. There is a speed sign exiting PA into NJ on the I-95 which emits K band around 24.129. Every time I approach it my V1 will sound to it but the app overlay will not show the K box, the the two times a trooper was shooting K band I would get the usual 2nd bogey on the V1 and now that specific frequency overlay would show on my phone. It's a lot easier to see the signals and know how to react.
