I promise I'm not trying to spam the forum with videos of this happening, but just trying to document it somewhere. This is a more than weekly occurrence at this point for me. Maybe it's just my luck, but frankly it's annoying.

Not sure if it was the one two cars ahead of me or the one that passed at 0.12. Honda CR-V causing another segment 6 Ka false on my R3. 34.833, which is a frequency I have seen before. It's usually 34.833 or 34.844, and it's always from a newer CR-V.

I had a 34.2 false from a brand new Dodge Ram. I hope these Ka falses aren't becoming a trend.

Yeah they've been popping up all over the place for me. I have a thread somewhere in the Uniden section with more videos. It's always a CR-V, and it's always in Segment 6 (which I see around me, so I have to run). I'm not happy that this is a thing now.

This a known issue. The R series cannot effectively filter Honda/Acura BSM falses.

There is a work around with a K Block - but there's a small risk of missing legit radar.

This is a Ka false, not a K band false.

Oh apologies.

Are these new Hondas?

Also there’s probably more in the know Uniden users in the Unidentifiable forum.

Yeah man, this is a Ka false. I’ve been seeing a lot more of this lately. It’s a newer CR-V every time. I actually get more Ka falses from CR-V’s at this point than regular K falses from other Hondas

This is with:

Advanced
K Band 60%
Ka Band 100%
K filter on
Ka filter off
K block on
Tsf on
Segmented 2,5,6,8

Have you tried seeing if the Ka filter will eliminate these falses?

Honestly, I haven't. And I honestly find the idea that I need to put any hamper on Ka performance because this thing won't filter a CR-V totally maddening. And I have mostly 35.5 in pretty tough terrain. I don't want to lose any precious Ka range.

I mean, people have been criticizing the new Whistler for this. This is an R3 falsing on Ka band to BSMs. Yeah, I could try the Ka filter and I probably will. But that's not why I bought this thing.

That sounded way more like I rant than I meant it to

Guys, thanks for documenting this. I've been seeing Ka falses for 6 months now and absolutely no idea about the origin. Tons of CR-Vs in my area. I'll start paying closer attention. Thank you.

@nomore55 I had a thread going as well with more videos. Seems to only be CR-V's in my experience. Bums me out that this doesn't seem to be new. Although, I haven't heard of other detectors having this issue (yet)

OK, I was behind my neighbor's very late model (1 - 2 yrs. old) CR-V this morning and got a Ka false from it. This was on my street in my neighborhood and our town does not use Ka band. Strange thing, I followed her for a while and it did not false again.

The alert was 34.587 GHz or thereabouts.

Could it be the R3 was over-driven by the Hondas K band BSM? Could that produce a Ka false?

I have seen some random Ka alerts on some BSMs, though think they were GM or another. I am going with that RAM having a RD mounted somewhat. You were behind that Honda too long, that it should of been alerting , not as the RAM came and went in the Video. Even my V1 hits about that area reported.

I get them every couple weeks or so. Typically the heartbeat goes still for a really long time as it’s trying to filter then I get 2 or 3 K band signals in the All Threat display then boom KA 34.83x at 2-3 bars for a few seconds. Then it’s gone.

Interesting. I run mine in dark mode, so I have no idea what the heartbeat looks like prior to getting one of these falses. I am going to have to investigate that now.
