What kind of remote was it? How did they figure there was RD?
It was an old Bel Remote, I cannot remember which model, I think it was a 3r from the 80s.

They used a VG-2 to detect it.

Criminal convictions will result in denial of entry by Canada Customs, just as US customs will refuse entry to Canadians with a criminal conviction. Non-criminal traffic violations aren't an issue.
Canadians can be arrested for unpaid US traffic fines when crossing into the States.
If you are a US Citizen and have a non violent conviction, you can apply to Ottawa and pay a steep fee - like $5,000 to $10,000 to gain entry back into the country - if they approve. It helps if you have kids in Canada, etc.
