Ok guys I’m steaming right now I just got back from San Antonio I’m here in Houston now but before leaving I said let me set up my Escort 9500ix but it was nowhere to be found so that’s why I’m pissed oh I forgot we stayed at my wife’s daughters house so I guess it grew legs and split.

I have the smart cord and windshield mount in the car but the case and detector is gone from inside of the house.

Not exactly sure what to make of your post. Punctuation would be helpful. I don’t think anyone here will be able to help you locate your 9500ix, but I would start by checking in between couch cushions. I can’t tell you how many things I’ve found there over the years. Dead serious.

Welcome to RDF! If you are unable to find your RD, we can always recommend a new one for you:

Good luck!

All sorts of suggestions found on this forum. Sorry for the loss but it's time for a new RD anyway!
And look at it this way, my daughter costs me cars! I'd be happy in comparison!

You need a new toy my friend. It’s clearly been too long.

I have seen V1 work just as good as 9500ix on videos that’s why I have kept it well till now.

I’m inbetween Houston and San Antonio right now. With DPS shooting pretty aggressive IO you might want to find something more sensitive to quick bursts. Especially if you’re doing a lot of highway driving. The 9500 is weak on the reactivity, I’ve recently even had a friend get a ticket from the detector and method mentioned. You’ll appreciate some improved filtering too.

@Gmctrucks welcome to RDF from a fellow Texan. @The Mighty Four Banger is spot on with his advice. DPS is very active with instant on 34.7 KA radar through that stretch. Was targeted twice between San Antonio and Seguin earlier before exiting to TX130. Luckily I was alerted in plenty of time by VVaze and JBV1.
The 9500ix is a radar detector that was best suited for duty 8-10+ years ago or where no K Band is currently used for speed enforcement. The lack of any worthy Blind Spot filtering makes it nearly unusable in present time.
Some options to consider are in no particular order or budget preference:
Radenso Pro-M: Outstanding K Band/BSM filtering with good range, GPS lockouts, excellent customer service, free firmware updates and compact size. $449
Uniden R3: Outstanding range on all KA Bands (33.8, 34.7, 35.5), GPS lockouts, good BSM filtering, good customer service, free firmware upgrades. $349 but keep your eyes peeled and it can be found for less than $300.
Uniden DFR7 or DFR9: Excellent range on 34.7 KA band, good range on 33.8/35.5 KA bands, good BSM filtering, free firmware updates, good customer service, GPS lockouts. DFR9-$249, DFR7-$129 thru Buydig using Vortex Radar's link and discount code. https://www.vortexradar.com/deals/
Uniden R7: Top range in windshield mount units, same features as R3 but with arrows ala V1/Max360. $599 but search for best deals.

Good luck whatever you decide and safe travels.

Thanks guys I’m going to check into the Uniden R3 I like the price.

What about the R7 is it that more advanced than the R3?

I have always had Escort or Bell they have done me good.

Go with the R7 if you can swing it.

Hell I did the same drive today and where I’m used to 100% constant on, a constable zapped me.

R3 is R7 but without the arrows and some other very small things you wont need in Texas. Having rear arrows on R7 is nice but you’re introducing yourself to more falses which might not bother you but it’s something to think about. Also, because of the R7 you can also find hot deals on the R3. There’s two for sale on this site for under $300. Unsure of if you can access classifieds yet.

I would almost say you can maybe wait on what radenso has cooking up but you’re probably looking at around a year from now to get your hands on a production unit which will also most likely not be cheap. But again, you might be able to score some deals on an R3 or R7 from members who are liquidating to jump on the new bandwagon.

I remember many moons ago Escort said that any new updates could be uploaded check out this video it’s at the beginning of the video. 😡

Guys when I do take a trip I’m not the first in line so when I pick up something I slow down but I already decided I’m going with the R7 in time.
