@ferius Any interest in adding detector hardware support in highway radar
I certainly hope Radenso will file patents on the best features asap so they don't get shut down by competitors doing it to them.
Somehow, protect these ideas and product development from being hamstrung by protectionist actions of unimaginative companies.
We don't need another 30 years of stagnation in this market.
Or they'll have to make it very hard for the competition to reach them ;)

I wonder if @johnboy00 would consider making an iOS version if he makes JBV1 support the new Radenso RD? I know he wasn’t interested before, but hopefully he might reconsider under the circumstances? I would gladly pay for it on iOS.
Yes Yes what he said ^ any talk of apps we need iOS...

Then approved by Apple Car Play...hmmm asking too much...

Avtually I can't really tell yet. I develop the app primarily for myself so the question is more of will I decide to switch from my R7 to the new Radenso unit or not.

It more depends on whether the new RD will have comparable to R7 performance since it is critical in the place where I live. However, an open API would be a very strong argument towards switching.

Let's wait until the first testers get their units and then make decisions =)

Personally I dont want any cables or extra phones to use this new unit, my car is very clean with mirrortap, blendmount, wireless apple car play and wireless charging cradle.

Having said that, pretty sure options will be available for many different setups, at the end of the day Radenso is in business for sales and will want to cater to as many buyers as possible.

hm so this detector will have arrows and good BSM filtering. I’m assuming it’ll have an API based on Jon’s previous comments about the importance of including it. The range should be pretty awesome as well because why wouldn’t it?

If this is the case and it could integrate with JBV1, it could blow out of the water both the current and most likely whatever the new V1 is whenever “two weeks” rolls by.

Maybe this could be like a souped up V1/JBV1 on steroids?
I think we have collectively solved the puzzle! What most of us want in a detector is excellent range on ALL bands, great off-axis, bsm filtering, API, arrows, rock solid design, and passionate owners who seek excellence! Introducing the Radenso V2! Or whatever they name(d) the detector! I'm sure Vortex will be the first in line at SEMA! Like a kid waiting to open his Christmas present!

The enthusiast community definitely tends to make their favorite the detector with the best range, even when other detectors have more/better features. Long ago it was the V1, then the Belscort M3s, now the Uniden R series. I wonder what will happen if Radenso's next big thing ticks all the feature boxes (best BSM filtering, API, arrows, etc etc) but doesn't trump the range of the Unidens.

Knowing what you do not want is equally important. What don't I want? A radar detector that offers;

1. Offers the same features as its competitors.
2. Incremental improvements in performance.

It is really unfortunate that so many posts in these thread focus on these 2 items.

In my opinion, if this is all the new Radenso device offers, they will not be in business in 2021.

Sick of here...
unfortunately it doesn't quite work that way due to things like latency
latency wouldn't matter, and processing latency in the 10-20ms range doesn't really matter in detector designs.
That’s not exactly what you said in another thread...

though there would probably be even more latency in a horn to phone design...

then you have to contend with the various different models of phone processors on the market... and their performance levels.

Back in that thread I was talking about significant latency around half a second...

Ive never really cared too much about all our range... just so long as it gets the job done.

Good question. Will it trump the range of the current V1, two-week V1, R1/3/7, or old Redline? I've owned RL, and currently use my V1/JBV1, R1 and R3. I used @Jag42 RPSE for an extended time. I'd be all in on a new Radenso if the range was close to old RL or R1/R3. Radenso boys seem think outside the current "stale" beeping boxes. Two-week V1 "could" be a winner if all the patents were applied. Christmas will be here in 2 weeks! We will have to wait to open our new toys!

Just remember nothing is shipping this year. Our announcement is only partially about a physical radar detector which will ship next year.
What will be in the other part of the announcement :D

JohnBoy00 has said many times that JBV1 is not coming to iOS anytime soon. It can not be ported over due to lack of functions and things Apple prevents from being done which is why JBV1 is currently only available on Android devices.

Don't forget that mswlogo develops an app called V1 Driver right now. It's not free, but iOS people are used to that. :)

Hmm, that sounds awfully familiar. The same concerns were expressed here when Radenso launched in May 2015, when lot of people thought that Radenso would not survive ;)

It is amazing that some people posting in these teaser threads, many with thousands of posts, cannot set their sights higher than Radenso will simply create another 'monkey see-monkey do' radar detector.

Do we know that the physical RD you speak of is a dedicated W/S mount, or has this not been revealed yet?

From all of the teasers it sounds like we are in for something special with this release. Since we are all enthusiast here, of course we are excited about what might be. I'd wager most of us, by a large margin will buy this new detector.
