Both of you have right. It aims straght at the license plates and the surface area around. The heads of some LJ producers are even installed on the license mounting plate. I believe every modern jammer will provide protection. Including TMG, we'll see about that...

The R1 blindness was expected, actually. I just wanted to make sure about that. V1 can see this type of cam in some rare conditions but not always and far beyond in time. The "visibility" becomes even harder for any detector for the reasons you have well described. If there are better chances for any detector to pick up laser, that would be against the hand guns because of possible shifting of the beam produced by the natural movements of hands. Anyway, visitors who drive here have to be cautious for these things hidden at places with speed limitations. Not alaways Weze could also help due to umarket points.

I would like to ask for your opinions alongside with showing some latest things they keep on dropping on us. They've started installing recently two kinds of redlight and traffic surveillance cams all over the city where I live, and not only. On the posts at every possible crossroad or roundabout. But there is a third kind of them (I think the small ones on the pictures) that aren't installed at every crossroad but at selected ones, and have been activated only at night emitting a powerful C/O X band signal. The X band signal is off during the day. One thing is that we have become a real Big Brother, but on the other hand it is already almost impossible for anyone to drive with a RD even in City mode at night. It's just a nightmare literally because my R1 picks them up from a long distance and practically won't shut up chirping permanently like crazy. :) Does anyone have any clue what these things may be and why they blast that powerful X band signal at night? My first thought of course is that they are some kind of speed-control cameras for those who like the light traffic under the cover of the night and make their foots heavy on the accelerator. So I'm wondering if they are simply speed-cams or could possibly have some different task asigned??? But what may this be if they just emit X band overhead...

Here's some photos how they look like. They look like a Christmas present, actually :D

Does K filter have effect on MRCD detection? Heywood probably already told me this but I can't remember. Do you get enough time to slow down with 1.46?

We tested, discussed and explained a lot of this matter.

Take a look here

here

and here

K has minimal to none effect but sometimes I can spot it does effect some delay as to the picking mrcd from behind. K filter isn't the biggest issue here but algorithm and hardware... maybe, I dunno. IMO we have average MRCD result here and too bad with all the other firmwares. I would expect more from Uniden. They've made excellent detectors for all other purposes.
