The Metro area had a visitor from Florida yesterday and we were able to put a small impromptu test meet together.

Vehicles tested were a BMW Z3 (TMG) and a Ford Expedition (ALP TX). Shooter was the same on all runs. Testing Lidar device was a current firmware DEC.

Test course was one I like due to fairly real world setting. The road is NOT pristine pavement as it has rough spots, potholes, a little wavily in a few spots, and places that are uneven.

The TMG was running latest Algro with 2 front heads two rear heads. All forward runs were JTG, repeated over and over. The rear had a punch through or two but those where in the upper area or far out on the taillights which we feel were caused by the limited ability of placement of the heads. All rear tag shoots were JFG. The more I test TMG with current Algro the better I feel about performance against DEC when said vehicle is setup correctly and properly tested.

The Expedition was JTG with one PT that could not be repeated. I still have a major issue in the rear when it comes to DEC as I can't even get just my tag protected. It is PT everywhere even just focused on the tag, where as I am JFG on Stalker XLR and TruSpeed S. Anybody with any ideas how to test this to make sure I am not fighting an equipment issue as my initial install was at least JFG except under 400 feet so we made some setup install placement changes and it is PT everywhere no matter the distance but only against DEC.

Any Metro Intermediate or Advanced Forum Members that would like to be notified of future last minute meets, please feel free to PM me so we know to contact you.

Add a TX Sensor in the rear if you want full rear protection. 2 regular sensors is not good enough especially on a large flat rear of an Expedition.

.
I have a TX front and rear (six heads total), which is why I was talking about moving the installed heads around. When the heads were 8.5 inches apart right and left of the TX head I jammed DEC until under 400 feet then it was PT anything less then that. I tried 10 inches 11 inches and now at 12 inches but can't get any wider without making some type of custom bracket where the whole head would stick out from the body. Only other suggested solution has been to custom mount the two RX heads flush in the rear bumper deck cover and leave the TX head mounted just above the Tag on the lift gate. It was thought with the PT under 400 feet the RX heads were to close to the TX head yet additional spacing only lead to total PT everywhere which makes me wonder if I have a bad head, wrong port, or bad connection but their are no errors at startup and I jam everything else from the rear.

Would love suggestion on how to troubleshoot this.

Yes, you have Gen1 heads, and those 2 heads on that small Z of yours was very impressive.

It's was pretty impromptu hence why he said casual. We had someone who had his Dragoneye and I needed testing and @Transporter happened to be nearby and free.

If you need testing, let @Transporter know. He'll either help you get it done or refer you to someone if, for example, you live a bit further out.
