I haven’t been on the RDF since last Saturday. I have since acquired a Stalker ATR. I do have a Return Authorization from Escort from last week, but I haven’t sent my Max360c back yet as things have been very hectic at work and home.

I am very confident that my Max360c is sleeping at times. My Max360c is not functioning properly at this time in my opinion. I am in agreement with @FunkyDoc. My Max360c picks up my Pocket Radar Traffic Advisor and Bushnell normally except when sleeping. I will not use my Bushnell as a K-band reference any longer due to some recent posts from some RDF members regarding that it may not be a reliable K-band source due to Escort’s filtering properties in comparison to a police radar K-band gun. I now have a Stalker ATR to test it against if I suspect it is sleeping. I likely will wait a week or two before I send it back to Escort to see if I have a suspected sleeping incident to test it against my Stalker ATR.

My Max360c has experienced several new issues last week that I am not going to discuss at this time on the RDF. These issues are not normal for the Max360c, and I am confident something is not working properly on my particular unit. Every brand has issues on some of their detectors. I definitely understand no brand is perfect. I love my Escort Max360c when it working properly. I just want it fixed. That is all. I own multiple brands of radar detectors, and I enjoy using different brands of detectors. I have owned many Escort products over the years.

I am very interested to hear your results! Every time my 360 did not alert to the Bushnell it would alert fine to the HR.

That is good to know. I recently picked up a used Pocket Radar K-band Traffic Advisor model to take on long trips due to the small and compact size to store in the glove box/center console. It helped me confirm a suspected sleeping incident this weekend, but reading this thread, some RDF members do not think the Pocket Radar is reliable to test with. I will still use it though because my Max360c normally picks it up when “awake”.

Sounds like you have experiences showing de-grading of your device. Get you wanting to benchmark every item before sending back. Please keep us up to date.

I hope a DSR2x is ok to test with - Last night after about a 3 hour drive , I encountered a LEO getting coffee at a convenience store, his DSR2x was on.

Stir Plus alerted, but the GT 360 did not. After I restarted it, it alerted fine. When the LEO drove away, both detectors stopped alerting.

I did notice again, that when it was sleeping the speed limit from Live had the highway speed of 65, rather then the local road speed of 35, so I have no idea wtf is going on. The GPS speed correctly showed the cars speed and I could toggle through Highway/Auto/AutoLoK with no visible issues.

Next time I will try to change the setting via live when it freezes and try to check laser, I keep forgetting to do that.

Quick question. To those that have experienced the sleeping issue in the real world, does the GPS speed readout on the display still work? Or can you scroll through the menu?

Thanks.

Yes, all functionality remains. You can go through menus and the speed is working. The night rider bars are going as well. There is no indication anything is wrong.

I’ve had two experiences where locked out stores did not register when I’ve pulled up to them. The GT should silently show the frequency as a lock out but there was no reaction until the GT was reset. It’s been ‘fixed’ by ecort 3 times within the last 3 months. After the last return my Wife took possession of it so I haven’t played with it much. She reports that it is learning her routes and auto locking out sites as she travels.
I’m not messing with the sudden interest in using a detector and am glad it’s not in her glove compartment.

Has anyone tried turning off the GPS when your normal store lock out don't register. This should instant pop on the alert and let you know the detector is working.

There is times where it won't show an auto lock out like it should, but soon as you turn off gps the unit so would start alerting to it. During this time it still fully alerts to real alerts.

I've tried this and it works, ie locked out signals always come through. Previously had an issue where sometimes it wouldn't notify me of a locked out source, but with most recent update it does so consistently (except for the few times it's slept). So turned GPS back on and now it consistently and silently shows the locked out source in gray.

The sleeping issue should be resolved with the latest firmware for all 360 Cedar detectors.

I noticed some are using Bushnell guns as a radar source. MAX detectors attempt to filter these out as non-police radar. It is normal for a MAX to not alert to a Bushnell or issue a delayed alert.

Can you elaborate on how the Max detectors can tell its a Bushnell or what sets it apart from other K-band CW radar units?

It is proprietary technology so I cannot go into great detail about it. In a nutshell it is because of its advanced DSP. Recall the marketing for the MAX detectors saying "HD detection" that samples radar's "DNA" ;) Marketing lingo for sure, but based on what is really going on. It is detecting with high enough resolution to be able to quickly identify and filter out signals based on certain criteria.

If that is the case, why does it often alert to the Bushnell in testing but at other times ignore it completely?

If that's true it's interesting that Escort decided to focus on filtering out Bushnell radar sources (which is a continuous wave K band source) instead of eliminating all BSM false alerts.

I am still having an issue with mine. I have never tested with a Bushnell or non-police radar. I am mailing it back shortly.

To be honest, the most annoying falses I get are from radar guns while driving across little league baseball fields. I'm glad someone finally addressed it!

Impressive. A detector so smart it can filter out someone in a baseball field using a Bushnell while still alerting to someone testing with one lmao

Dammit @RoadDogg ! It sucks all the problems you're having with your 360. Maybe one day they'll fix it or just send you another one like Uniden does! Jeez!

Mine will alert to my Bushnell very quickly....until it ignores it all together some days. There does not seem to be real consistency on how the 360's handle the Bushnell. This goes for weak and strong signals. I'm fine with the 360 programmed to ignore the Bushnell, and other similar false alerts, but for some reason it will alert a lot more times than it does not.

The times my 360 has ignored my Bushnell it has picked up the HR perfectly though.
