Drove by a multi-LEO speed trap tonight. Five cars pulled over by five squad cars. NetRadar going crazy. I had plenty of warning.

Anyway after I drove past it all, I got that weird spider-sense feeling about a vehicle kind of pacing me. I decided to kill the ALP system. Hit my kill switch and the status LED went dark. The app screen stayed on the screen it was on (car / threat picture) with the overlay saying that it was scanning or waiting to connect.

Would it make sense for the app to note the active screen when it loses connection to the system and then switch to the map view? That map screen looks pretty innocuous. And keeps scanning for the system to wake back up, but doesn’t overlay that message? When it sees the ALP again, it would switch back to the screen it was on.

I feel like that would keep things looking inconspicuous with just the push of a kill switch. Just a thought.

Or better yet, just have a black screen? So there’d be an option “Black screen on connection loss”. This would let your kill switch also kill the display on the app.

If you hit the kill switch on your ALP, it’d be nice instead of seeing this:

the app would show this

or at least this
