love the LED placement and the rear alp covers! I'm sure those rear covers could be sold and installed on many different cars easily!

@12v Nick do you have any more pictures of the rear housings? Were they custom for this setup or based on a design that you have used before?
Curious if you would you have any on the shelf for sale?

These were designed/built proprietary to this car, but we've used the same method on multiple other platforms. Depending on the specs for your car we might be able to design and build a set specifically for you. Here are a couple other examples:

EDIT: Even though these lips look flat, the majority of them are at a 3-7º rake, so the housing is also designed to compensate for that.

Would you be able to ballpark what a custom fab like that might cost? Say two housings with a magnetic Perspex cover?

It's tough to get exact without the details on the car, but something like what we did on this Ferrari would be approximately $660. We're at $100/hr for internal jobs and those housings are around 1 hour of design and another 5 hours of engineering, fabrication and assembly. The rest is materials.

If we're making them magnetic covers that's probably an additional hour or so.

Looks really good!
Are those housings you guys make 3D Printed or is this all done by hand?
Thank you!

They're a combination of CNC laser cut parts and hand fabrication. We're getting into 3D printing as of the last 30 days but still debating on which system to invest in – need better resolution than most of the smaller models out there.

Ultimaker has been good to me. Also make sure to check out the 3d printing subreddit. And some sanding and body filler looks pretty good too.

That really looks like some amazing work. Well done!

PS I see how you got there with the RX/TX head nomenclature. Around here we just call them RX (receive) heads since the TX (transmit) heads don’t have any receive capabilities. At first I, too, thought you meant the popular combo of 2 RX and 1 TX head, but yeah the front end is way too low to support the 20” minimum height of a TX head.
