Well, Uniden supporters, give me some love. I am trying to be fair and trying to be patient, at least in my opinion I am. Maybe I expect too much too soon. But it was six weeks ago (Oct. 4th) that we were advised that Uniden was working on an update for the R7, but was still working out the bugs. It has been two weeks since BRD told us that he had met with Uniden and had talked to them about the issues that he was seeing and hearing on the forum. I have seen nothing from Uniden. I think the person that they have working on the update is the same guy that I keep talking to at Xfinity that is going to fix my internet connection. I still see no one from Uniden on this forum, including Uniden Support. So, I just don’t see any change. I had hoped that we would. So, I need my Uniden support group to help me feel better about Uniden and their support. Maybe I am being impatient and maybe I’m being unfair to Uniden. But I do think it is fair to say that Uniden‘s support and presence has changed around here and I think it is fair to say that Uniden was made aware of this. To me, it is fair to expect to have seen some response from Uniden other than utter silence. Especially when we are seeing a real chance for some revolutionary new poducts elsewhere. I have said before, I honestly think that Uniden has a place to remain as a significant rd manufacturer but they have just have to do it with action and all I see is silence.
While I Echo your concerns, as a R7 user myself, I have just come to realize, while yes having a timetable would be nice, we are not sure what issues maybe Uniden is having with the firmware with the Testers. I rather have a Polish, or near Polish Firmware on this go around.

I’m very comfortable with the pace of Uniden’s updates. When I buy a product, I buy it for what it is the day I turned over my money. Everything after that is a bonus. Don’t get me wrong, I like bonuses.
I would rather see Uniden take their time to get an update right when released then see a half-azz firmware with bugs in it.

Your being a little impatient. Info is still going back and forth between testers & Uniden while bugs are still being worked out.
I don't think were impatient, I bought a $800 Canadian RD that said MRCD works and doesn't. No communication from Uniden gives me little confidence in the company. They can easily say were working on something and we expect a fix over the next few months. Instead complete silence and that is unacceptable. I saw the Radenso newest AI RD and if it says what it does I am ditching Uniden. Their update firmware is buggy. Listen Uniden isn't a new company but their support and zero loyalty department are shit. People keep saying an update for the sake of an update, no I want an update to fix the false representation of this device have made. 4+ months is a long time to have zero updates for a new device.

Hard to say.
Maybe losing Kuni to Radenso was a bigger kick in the pants than we were originally led to believe
It takes the right person and a bit of time to cultivate a well working work relationship.

I don’t know what their relationship with Attowave is now compared to how it use to be, but it is defiantly different on our end.

Even the R3 and DFR9, which are relatively recent have be lacking.

This. The fact that there are significant, acknowledged bugs which haven’t been fixed after months of complaints really doesn’t give me much confidence that the company will support this platform long term.

As soon as the new Radenso AI unit is out I’ll be jumping ship. Based on their interaction over on the Radenso forum, they actually seem to care about their customers.

Well, serious dissonance for me now. I’m very frustrated with Uniden. But I feel like BRD has done everything that he can to help and his support has always been phenomenal. So, out of respect to BRD I will wait more patiently for Uniden to right the ship.

Can you be a bit more clearer on what has you so frustrated with Uniden? Is there a particular bug you are having an issue with?

I do, several and I have voiced them over the past month or two quite a bit. Maybe too much. But to go over them now again seems counter to what I just said I would do (try to wait patiently). So I’m going to drop it for now.

To be honest I have been very consumed running my own businesses and I certainly did not read each post in this thread and I do not have the time to go through each post. Uniden is not my company but I help every company that asks for my assistance. I just cant treat it as if its one of my own because my own companies take priority. If there is something you want me to address that I am not aware of just let me know and I will bring it up. In regard to new firmware I should be getting the next version to test either end of this week or next week so things are getting corrected and worked on even through end users do not see this.

This conversation really brings back memories from Radenso's secret sauce firmware which took a long time, but it got released when it was ready. I think Uniden wants to release a polished firmware and doesn't want to just release a firmware with new colors and a new volume setting and a new firmware number. I really think that Uniden wants to address as many issues as they possibly can.

In my experience with the R3 and now the added R7, Uniden has been pretty responsive with updates. Now it has been a little while since the last update, months, but I think we're a bit spoiled. Prior to my R3 I was a diehard Escort owner and getting an update every few months was unheard of. You might see an update once a year and be lied to every few months but nothing close to how often Uniden has been updating. This last update has been a little delayed but nothing close to what other brands experience.

At this point, my R7 is just standing in until Radenso delivers their new tech. If it is half anything they say it will be, game over for every one else.

That is my view as well. We have the best radar detector available today. Best detector next year -- probably not. I'm going to enjoy my R7 up until Radenso releases Theia sometime in 2020.

Same. My R7 is now just a stop-gap until the Radenso Theia is released. I loved my R3 and have been less than impressed with my R7. I am looking forward to becoming a Radenso customer.

Well I still like my R7. The Escorts might go on the chopping block, but probably not my R7. It will end up in one of my other vehicles. Besides, they have room to improve and grow. They'll have to, or it's going to hurt sales.

Not trying to hijack the thread but can any beta testers say if anything is being tested for the R3? I’m hoping they are able to bring MRCD and filtering improvements to the platform but understand it’s not their highest priority anymore.

Unfortunately after the 1.46 circus, all things that have to do with up coming FW’s or improvements are no longer leaked ahead of time.
