Hi All,

I'm a long time V1 user and recently moved to a newer V1 with ESP so that I could use custom sweeps etc. My older V1 never gave false Ka alerts (all other bands were switched off). With my newer V1 I've always had the occasional Ka false. As I run most of the time without V1C LE connected I haven't been able to check the frequency of the false. However recently I have been using V1 driver set to log the Ka alerts so that I can capture what is going on. Today I got lucky managed to record a false.

The false was reported as 33.740 which in itself is interesting as I am running custom sweeps for 34.7 only.

Can anyone school me on how a 33.740 came through when my sweeps are 34.298 - 34.770 and 34.774 to 35.202 (quite wide but still not close to 33.7)?

I've read the a V1 will always sweep slightly wider that what is configured but it is the reason in this case? Could it be a POP alert? I can't find anywhere to turn POP off.

Thanks

When in Euro mode to run custom sweeps, Ka POP is forced on. This automatically sweeps the 33.8 segment, independent of your other sweep settings. The downside of running Ka POP is a slight increase in falses due to leaky detectors.

Thanks for the explanation - I thought it must be something like that.

Speaking of which, a new round of testing in A mode with Ka Guard off vs custom sweeps is probably in order soon.
Completely agree. I've wanted to see this for years.

A pure V1 against V1 test. We know how it stacks up against other detectors, but we don't know (that I've been able to come across) how V1's stack up against each other.

A Stock VS Ka-Guard off, VS CS simple, VS CS Interleaved, VS CS multiple sweeps, utilizing multiple V1's.

I'll gladly volunteer my V1 for testing.
