ATTN: Anyone attending the testing weekend, IF you have two way radios you plan on bringing PM me what you intend on bringing (UHF/VHF.etc) or have so I can figure out what I need to bring, a frequency we can use and provide a talk in freq in case you are in the area and need a little help finding us. and so we know what is going to be on hand for testing. I can easily cover VHF/UHF and CB. Thanks Y'all!

Also, if you plan on bringing a laptop let me know. I am providing some 120 via inverters for laptops. Bring your thumb drives and or flash cards so we can make copies of data/ shenanigans.. I'll be bringing some battery packs to power guns and detectors.

@Kennyc56 looks like a cross between a hobbit and one of the guys on deliverance, @VariableWave looks like the short guy on fantasy island.
I look like Lurch from the Addams Family. I think we might hafta do a group photo when we do this.

I'm a long time automotive, scanner, radio (VHF, UHF, HF) and radar detector geek. Sounds like good times. I'm pretty sure I can make it.
Might have a couple extra HT's to loan out if needed. Analog and digital, VHF and UHF.

Just wanted to check..... how far from the testing site is the closest eating establishment?
Just wanted to make sure that I don't need to pack a lunch......

@Chris KH2PM you said you have digital capabilities. Are you on the PRN 70 cm network? I use the Nashville repeater. If you are get on there and give me a yell some time. KE4JGX

Yes I'm a DMR nerd! Right now unfortunately the only repeater I can reliably reach is the Raleigh NC-PRN machine, and it's not currently connected to the internet. I'm out in Northern Harnett Co., so I can't get to the Cary machine which is linked via C-Bridge to the Nash machine on the Local TG, IIRC. Haven't tried that in awhile but it was set up that way for a long time. If you can get into the Raleigh NC-PRN machine reliably, let me know.

I do have two MMDVM hotspots, one on BrandMeister and the other on TGIF so I can chat thorough one of the various TalkGroups on either of those systems. I'm typically monitoring BM TG 31371 (Triangle NC) and TGIF TG 442.

You guys won't have time to eat lunch.. lol
Me and @Brainstorm69 were lucky to eat crackers and pee at the convenient store during TXCTG. Testing is always a full day

Also, @LinuxD if you have Yaesu C4FM/YSF capabilities I may leave my FTM-400 in the truck. I was planning on swapping it out for my FTM-350 which I MARS/CAP modded a long time ago for any VHF/UHF Secret Squirrel frequencies that my be used while out and about. ;)

Yes, it did as far as I'm concerned. Several found out what was working good, what was so so and what had to be adjusted to work at all.

So, in short, it was a productive day.

Did a little testing with a cpl guns.. mostly it was me with my K band guns checking funtionality and distances against different sized vehicles, both coming and going, as far as RD testing.. not so much, except we did do a little testing with V1's against laser and an R7 also. We packed it in as it was starting to rain. Am glad to report my HR-8 and Falcon are both dead on the numbers for speed as it was being called out while @The Pope was running different LIDAR guns. Both were Ebay Items that were sold as nonfunctional and i had repaired them. i did have my HR-8 in CO mode for an audio warning pointing down the road for a while so if we were engrossed in the other directrion we were warned of approaching vehicles

In my case it was all good! My TMG setup could not be defeated! It was JTG against every gun that @VariableWave could throw at it including the mighty Dragon eye, and DEC! That was in both test mode and auto sleep mode! I never had to even touch either one of my 2 front heads! This was my first ever laser jammer install and I managed to do it with a screwed up right leg! I just took my time and paid attention to detail, As I said, I'm only running 2 front heads from TMG that are the new style. They are 31 inches apart so I was pretty sure I was going to need another head, WRONG! I made pass after pass after pass at @VariableWave and @The Pope , and they couldn't get even one speed reading! Now it's time to work on the 2 heads going to the rear! Thanks to @Jag42 again for being so generous and giving me this system! BTW,@The Pope and @VariableWave were not playing games either, several of these shots with the Dragon Eye were 500 feet or less and it still was JTG! It also worked pefectly in auto sleep mode as well!

The day overall was a good one.

@The Pope and myself did a number on @Kennyc56 's setup. The locations I mentioned to KennyC56 was a good choice to a 2 head design, and KennyC56 did a beautiful job installing. From the testing with all my LIDAR guns, only the DE did get him a few select times, one we throughout. The HW2 seemed to hold better than the HW1.

For @The Pope . his setup did have some concerns, but this is also after we put it through the Gantlet of units. The rear was the most concern, and what was nice to see, my Film that I have been using over the plate did a nice job correcting a hole that was found. Other than that, he has a discussed what could be done to near JTG for testing.

@delthom899 , shout out to this guy. Had the longest travel of 6 hours. He has an ALP setup with a TX upfront We did some nice work checking his setup. One biggest issue we had, without a proper cellular signal, can't adjust the ALP setting period. Be nice that this could be fixed for an offline edition. We found with his setup, we had to move the TX head up, say 5 inches and JTGs all the way.

My setup on Pickup and MC. I was able to Jam all Guns (@The Pope trigger man) when the frontal area of the MC, then we did other parts like hit the rider - 450ft we found the hole. For the Pickup, had 3 heads, but one head had an issue, and again @The Pope and others targeted the front with JTGs with passenger side dead, but work low center and Driver side. Nice to see with Triple and loss of one, still good. (The Pope to fill in)

Wish weather did hold out for another 1 hour or so, as @Chris KH2PM did get there late and could of done more with him on the Radar side.

This will not be the last time we all get together for a test! BTW,@delthom899 came all the way from Atlanta just to test with and meet us! Talk about drive and dedication! The coolest part was when he got there he had some issues, when he left he was all good and JTG! And of course Jane and I had a blast with @VariableWave , just like always!

It was great meeting everyone today, although I arrived a couple hours late. I ran my Kustom Hawk K-band on the way out, but the dang 2A fuse blew about 5 minutes before I arrived at the test site. I was hoping to blast someone with K while pulling up on you guys there.

I did experience just how awesome the V1 is at detecting and alerting to LIDAR. Even my old v2.693 V1 alerted way before the bridge. For sake of reference, I recall my speed was attained upon reaching the bridge. The old V1 alerted from the front to LIDAR like a beast. It's an early Hardware V1.7 model with a laser sensor on the front only. My v3.8945 alerted immediately from the front and rear, as soon as I rounded the curve before the bridge, it was alerting to front LIDAR! And as expected and demonstrated, the R7 only started to alert when I was about 100' from the test site on one pass, and another, it never alerted at all while the V1 was blaring the whole time.

Thanks for the opportunity to test and learn, and check out some neat installs. Maybe next time I'll have some parking sensors to test out!
