Anyone use one of these units yet? Looking for recommendations of how they handle the heat before dropping $499 on one.
I’m curious about the heat tolerances as well, but given that we’re heading into fall now and then winter, it may be a while until we find out. Perhaps our friends down under will be able to let us know sooner?

The primary retailer in Australia I would expect to have this model, does not. So temperature tolerances may not be that great.
That said I have an F800 PRO, it's the single worst purchase I have ever made for my car, wait for DOD to produce a 4k camera, my DOD RC500S puts the F800 pro to shame on video quality, day and night.

Been running one for a couple weeks. I only have one comparison video. I think @Vortex is working on some real comparisons.

I ran the Thinkware F770, then Blackvue 900s, now the Thinkware U1000. A few initial impressions:

-I like the form factor (for my application).
-Wifi seems more reliable then the 900s. 900s just seemed glitchy for me.
-1 min 4k is around 200MB on the U1000. Blackvue 900 seemed like it was around 90MB. Probably explains the higher detail.
-Color/exposure seems a little wonky. But for me, detail is more important. If I want good color, I'd grab a real camera.

Well, here's a little YouTube compressed-to-death video. Oh, a little Ka band fun too:

Cheers,
Paul

My 1 minutes 4k recordings from my 900s are 192.944 MBs. Not sure why yours would be less than half of that. I'm using H265.

Ahh. That makes sense. I must have mine on a lower setting. Shoot. Probably make my comparison worthless. I'll go add that to the YT description. Thanks.
