Can someone tell me what I need to do in V1 C to quiet down the k band madness from Mazda, Honda, GM, etc.? I know how to do it; just need the preferred frequency settings and the in/out of the box settings. Thanks so much!

Tell us really quick exactly what you are using. :)
What firmware are you running on the V1?
Are you using the V1 Connection app? (Or something else?)

FWIW, I don't know that you will get much relief safely from the Mazdas right now. They are too near proper frequencies and seem unusually strong.

Many GM broadcast two different frequencies such as 24.085 and 24.185 at the same time. There's a feature in JBV1 that looks for that.

With info from you, I'd think we could help mitigate some of your falses.

Good question. V1 3.892 with the Bluetooth dongle, savvy and V1 connection - the app.

I would love to get k-band to not alert until over 4 dots so I can avoid much of the junk around town and now on the highway. Also, if I can safely notch out certain chronic offenders - like I do with uniden - I would love it.

Ready, set, go!!! :)

Without TMF2, it's going to be an uphill battle. You can send the detector in for a $79 upgrade now and get TMF2, or wait and see whether a new hardware version is released.

Okay, if the above info is accurate enough, it looks like you are on TMF1 which is less capable.
Hold on:
@johnboy00, what is the difference between 3.892 and 3.893 as far as what JBV1 might have to work with do you think?

Shumax, As InsipidMonkey just pointed out, you could get up to what is current with a low priced upgrade. It would probably get you to 3.8945 (which is equivalent to 3.8952) due to the hardware that you have. (Same as mine)

TMF2 is really interesting and just a few years ago it was considered more advanced than what the competitors had to offer.

Awesome! That helps a great deal! (3.8945)
Do you have TMF2 on? During regular boot up it will show a "t" at the end.

Appears it is as I do see the “t...”

I am running apple devices in the car, FYI. So, no JBV1 for me. :(

Just like mine boots up! :)

Have you then considered V1 Driver instead of V1 Connection? Someone really familiar with V1 Driver might be able to help you better with that than I can. If you stay with V1 Connection, I think there are things that can be done, but I have almost never actually used it.

I definitely do. Do not see how you set up sweeps on KA. I do for k. Look forward to guidance. Thanks so far!

The V1connection app configures the V1.

V1Driver manages it on an ongoing basis, doing things like muting it for you when appropriate (speed based, lockouts, frequency boxes, etc).

There are numerous resources on how to configure the V1 using the V1connection app, including custom sweeps and the rest, including on the V1Driver website itself:

There is no such thing as custom sweeps for K-band, only for Ka. Once you’ve configured and applied the profile for your V1 in the V1connection app, you kill it and leave it alone. V1Driver takes over from there.

Hey, thanks again for all of the information here. So, is there no way to use V1 Connection to narrow down what the unit "sees" on K-band? The idea being to cut down on the junk on the highway from these blind spot monitoring devices. If so, what frequency do I want to dial it down to? If it's too dangerous to do that, let me know.

I have a 12 hour car ride tomorrow, so I would like to dial this in today, if possible?

Thanks!

Let me look at V1 Connection real quick. :)

Some thoughts:

V1 Connection only offers one K-band box. You could restrict that box to 24.115-24.190 and be reasonably sure that an out of the box signal is not real. I would not totally ignore it, but it could help.
Police radar should be centered on 24.125 or 24.150 but I frequently see legitimate 24.181 to 24.187 in my travels.

Definitely use SAAVY emulation for lower speed driving.

Turn on all options under K-band muting.

Consider using it in Advanced Logic Mode. (Big L)

Thanks for the assistance. I used the suggestion above and it really quieted down the unit.

One thing bugging me is there is a “your speed is” sign in the complex I drove 12 hours to. The V1 does not respond to it at all. I reset it back to “A” and still no response. Why would that be?

Plenty of reasons, it is not K Band based. It is K Band but has drifted above or below the K Band frequencies the V1 scans. Example, the speed sign is transmitting at 23.800 GHz.
