So this time I was lucky. PSL is 60, and I was at 71 several seconds before the encounter. Did slow down a little, I believe my speed was 68 or 69 when I got lit. No one behind me, only one in front, but very close (so no real "rabbit" case here). It was just one those times when you just don't pay close attention to the surroundings. I spotted the LEO just before the alert but did not react, as I thought my speed was about 65-66. If it was few seconds earlier, I would have been hosed! 10 over the PSL is about the tipping point around here. So this LEO had pretty good tolerance for 8-9 over...

R7 - FrontCam - 24.130 - I/O

R7 - RearCam - 24.130 - I/O

I think this is a really go example of why a good amount of distance is required between you and a rabbit. The distance between the vehicles provided no time to react and the whole thing happens really quickly.

Thanks for sharing!

Damn @Marty K ! It's starting to look more and more like I/O hell NC with every video that you post! This is what I face on a daily basis as you've seen in my videos as well! Thank goodness however, I rarely see K band I/O any more! I think K band sucks even worse than the 34.7 and 35.5 that I get sprayed with! Looks like you'd better get used to it and start reacting as soon as you get that first blip and just assume it's always a real alert! If it's not, who cares, you can always speed right back up! Good luck!

You are welcome!
Yes, very true. Also, there is always that small chance of a very selective LEO, so the rabbit ahead may not be checked... Those are the scariest.

Yikes, code brown! I know the feeling.
He didn't even touch the brake in consideration, guess he was looking for the big fish.
Yes, so far my impression is that locals would not go after you for 7-8 over, even 9. If someone gets pulled over for that much, it is because there absolutely no other traffic, or the LEO is just bored and most of time is just a warning (unless driver's record is bad)...

@Kennyc56, you are right, good advice. I just need to get used to reacting as you said. This is something new around here. As I have said before, mostly I would see C/O Ka band, but things are changing...

Can we say SA fumble? LOL. Yeah, put some space between you and your rabbit.
I should have. But as I said in the OP, it was my fault for not staying on top of it. Just had some things in my mind and failed to stay alerted. Perfect scenario of how to fail with RD...

It was.
Thank you, I edit my videos and crop out anything that's missing the action, just leaving several seconds before and after, to show the complete situation..

Nice video. Thankfully I don't deal with much I/O or lidar/lazer. And I agree with @Kennyc56 K band is still as deadly today as it was when it hit the streets. In some cases, it's deadlier.

Thanks!
K band in my area was a rear thing, but in the last few months it feels like it's 50/50 with Ka. One good thing about Ka here is that I have never seen legit 33.8, neither it has been reported (as far as I am aware), so I am really tempted to turn of segment 2, but have not got enough courage yet.

Great video reminder of the “hazards” of I/O even with an awesome detector such as the R7. That was a close one, but no traffic stop for you which is a good thing! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks!
Yes, it is like I captured a classic example of being too close to the rabbit, and by Murphy's Law, sure enough a LEO showed up.
