It's a posturing act that tries to suggest that the person "dropping the microphone" has made a statement that they think is so profound that there is nothing else to say. Microphones don't like it either.

You are all missing the point of this thread.
Mike has had enough of your continual whining and moaning for new stuff.
He has no new tech or resources to build a new RD.
He has milked this antique V1 for all he can.
You funded his retirement.
Mic drop.
:hatsoff:
To be fair. I can’t see Mike retiring. He probably could have retired in the early 2000s if he really wanted to. I think the man really enjoys what he does.

I don’t know if mike has truly milked the V1. It may seem like that but he has knack for finding another utter where the milk flows freely

This is entirely possible as well.

Many people are seeing having a social media presence as a liability nowadays. I myself have trimmed back. There's a very good chance you're right: he just decided it wasn't worth the effort and deleted it.
Nothing good ever comes from Tweeting nor any other public posting forums. Politics as become so toxic that you're better off avoiding it all together. That's what we had to do here the past few years.

Politics has followed sport, the new tribalism.

As someone who followed Mike on Twitter, I can say I never saw any VR or CM material on his twitter feed. If I was to summarize his tweets, 99.99% were re-tweets. I'd rank them as:
  1. Political (80%)
  2. University of Cincinnati Athletics (15%)
  3. Keto Diet(4%)
  4. Other (1%)
Repeating what someone posted originally, a lot of conservatives quit Twitter as a sign of protest. Count Mike among them. Occam's Razor, the simplest solution is the most obvious solution.

@Bossdad71 's possum post (https://www.rdforum.org/index.php?threads/92401/) deals in reality so much better than this thread. Ha Ha

He was on RDF invite areas dealing with firearms, liberty loving people... Oops, that was shadow banned/shut down just like Twitter. :)

Might be testing the waters to see what the market is willing to pay for someone with his skill set. Remember <4% unemployment quality people are getting scarce.

My friends granddaughter (20yrs) got her CDL in the spring and started at $22 an hour driving a flatbed locally. Last month she jumped over to driving a cement mixer and is making $30 an hour. Let me add she also getting all the overtime she is willing to handle.

I would not be a fan of anyone posting names or links on this.
Let that person job search without pointing them out to their current employers.
We all have to make a living and make hard choices like this and alerting the world on social media poking directly to their current employment is not cool.
My 2 cents....

VR had a marketing manager ???
Yea, the marketing manager created copy of their new Car & Driver ad. I posted it over here:

Kidding aside, MV has had marketing talent over the years. Since production constraints long time ago in early days, there has been some changing of the guard. It is natural. For example, how many companies have marketing people that were hired long time ago, similar to MV age, and would still be there at his age now?

This person had worked there less than one year and recently left the company. If someone has a LinkedIn network out of Ohio, I can pass off the details to find their actual identity and inquire on what's happening internally. My guess is an operational hiccup or lost in the competition while the boss doesn't care anymore.
