That distance is just stupid. If that went to court, I'd laugh in the Leo's face if he said that he observed you speeding.

Wow! That dude was shooting on the very edge of the gun's limit!!! No apologies needed for the tourettes, your verbal descriptions fit the bill perfectly.

That’s my reaction to almost every single time a LEO is being sneaky or deceptive. And that distance is truly ridiculous .
Later model Stalker (XLR,RLR) guns can do 9.999ft.

I would assume it's an easy jam at that distance? Thanks for sharing.

Some specs for the Stalkers:
RLR LIDAR
MinimumRange mode <5 feet (1.5 m) - Speed mode 49 feet (15.2 m)
Normal 2500 feet (762 m) approaching targets
Maximum9999 feet (3047 m)

XLR LIDAR
MinimumRange mode <5 feet (<1.5m) - Speed mode 50 feet (15.2 m)
Normal2500 feet (762 m) approaching targets
Maximum>4,000 feet (1219 m)

XS LIDAR
MinimumRange mode <5 feet (<1.5m) - Speed mode 50 feet (15.2 m)
Maximum2000 feet (610 m)

Score one for the V1, too. But at that range could it possibly have been scatter?

The v1 only started alerting after I was shot lol which makes sense. I need to turn off laser but I keep forgetting.

And yes I thought it should've easily jammed given how far Apart we were .
That RLR distance is crazy.

What's the operating distance for the ALP ? (for the return shot from ALP to Gun)
Or doesn't that apply ?

I would think as long as there is enough energy coming in for it to receive pulses it will fire back (the intesity of the laser signal dims out over distance as the cone gets wider, at some distance there isn't enough brightness to reflect back and still be received). I suspect that with how sensitive ALP is even at distances greater than 10k feet it will still quite easily pick up the signal and transmit back. My record so far is ALP going off from picking up some laser signal that shot past the car ahead that was being targeted while I was still 2.15 miles (11350 ft) out from the shooter, it was an XLR too. ALp's return pulses would be brighter than the reflected pulses getting back to the gun so I suspect performance should be no issue.

Interesting, I knew about the limits of the XLR and XS but not the RLR. Thanks for sharing!

Except the guy probably gets 10 people with the gun at that distance and only 2 of them even take it to court. Maybe he doesn't even show up but he still gets 8 tickets on his record toward his next promotion or bonus because people are stupid and just pay it. We seriously need to educate the public on this stuff, even if they're not a part of the CM community.

For context, the mrad for the Stalker XLR is 3, so at 3742 ft, its beam would 11.22 ft wide.

And with a small amount of shaking which is sure to happen when the gun is being held by a human hand, the 11.22 ft wide beam would sweep across 2-3 lanes of traffic.

Yes, the Spec. range was stated as above, but all ver. of the model could do 9,999ft.
