So I'm on my way home after work and I get a 34.7 off axis around a corner alert with my front mounted R1! Turns out it's a State Trooper a couple of miles ahead shooting C/O believe it or not! A rare treat for me! Turns out, he was actually running both antennas at once as my bogey alert tone on my R1 announces along with the 2 different frequencies. A couple of miles later, another Trooper is also running C/O 34.7! I got him as I was cresting a hill in town. My Redline worked perfectly in both situations trailing my R1 and continuing to alert from behind. The action starts at 2:00 in the first video.

Do you think an R3 front facing and an R1 KA only rear facing would work together or do you think two Unidens would cause problems.

I'm glad you asked this question! Jane is running 2 of my R1's in her Mustang in a Ghetto Arrows set up and they work just as good as the R1/ Redline set ups! This is not hearsay either, I tested them all for hours against 35.5 and my 2 R1/Redline and her R1/ R1 set ups worked perfectly every time and alerted at the same spots whether the rear detectors were on or not! The R1 in the back of her Mustang also matched both of my Redlines in my Mustangs as well on rear distance! I'm also running only 2-5-8 Ka only in all of the detectors in the rear of all 3 cars.

@oversteer325 we have some footage on real world videos under ghetto arrows in 2 flavors. check her R1/R1 setup in action! It's on page 2. She has the blue Mustang in the first clip.

@Kennyc56 - nice! I do have to say that that R1 alert tone sounds like a cross between a dog and a duck...lol

You guys crack me up with the "ghetto arrows". However, for max range/sensitivity (especially for rear detections) that setup can't be beat by any dual horn RD currently on the market, albeit the R7 does come close.

I think if you mounted the R7 to the back glass it would win or at least tie the Redlines! But this system kicks @ss I'll tell you that!

If I had to deal with NC I/O all day, I'd go for max range as well. Not that I drive there too much but I've seen more I/O there than anywhere else.

@Kennyc56, I don't think anything would beat that setup (range wise), possibly a pair of R7's (kind of defeats the purpose of a dual horn RD though) or a couple of R3's. The V1 has served my needs quite well, Granted it may be lacking in some areas such as range but it gets the job done (for me at least) :).

I was wondering when the LEO was going to show up, it kept going and going, awesome detections. Ghetto arrows is definitely growing on me!

My V1 is not in the same world as this set up! Actually, if you leave curves and off axis out of the picture, it is! Of course, in real life against these Troopers you can't do that! We even tested the R1/Redline combo against @VariableWave 's R7 and my combo matched his from the front and beat it from behind. It destroyed my V1 period! Like I've said before, my V1 is a killer too, It's good for 4 miles against 35.5 both front and rear until you include off axis, then it's range drops like a rock, almost like my Whistler CR95 and 97 do. 2 R3's would kill it as well, but I don't want gps functions or lockouts so the R1's and Redlines are perfect for me!

The range this setup provides both front and rear is incredible! The coolest part is when you get an alert from behind and the rear detector alerts first and you know instantly its from behind, just like my V1, but the Redlines and R1's kill it around corners and hills and off axis too! This kind of range isn't really necessary for a lot of you that don't face anything but lazy long winded C/O bit it's just what the doctor ordered for I/O hell NC!
