I found this on eBay and was wondering if it could be used as a speed gun to test a RD for alerting purposes

Does it look like this? If so, lots of members use them for testing. Search the testing subforum for "Bushnell".

Yes, its a pretty accurate K band unit. You'll see more Ka band though, so its effectiveness is limited.

My recollection is that it sometimes goes for around $60 on a Black Friday sale on Amazon.

It's a good gun to use to see if your 360C has gone to sleep. ;)

effectiveness is limited. Buy a older HR-12 off eBay. Remember police don’t use bushnell baseball guns.

Using a Bushnell to calibrate photo radars, seems legit :hmm:. I have no doubt they are calibrated properly, why because the Bushnell says so.

Works very well for adhoc speed testing. PLUS if the “Max gone silent” group has you scared, I take mine along most the time to validate my ER products do not go to sleep. :)

This one is tunable. Some great RDF video on how to get at the adjustment screw to adapt to different k frequencies. Very handy. I have Ka too. Stalker. However, we have ton of K band around here. The Falcon HR I have, plus the Bushnell work well to check on K band performance with different filter settings needed for drivable use in Uniden products. Lately bee doing some ad hoc added testing with the Pro M with its BSM filtering on. In our recent official test, it and Uniden got hammered on K range with BSM filtering on. I repeated this with quick personal testing on LEO K band filled local streets. Having Bushnell helps to compare with HR.

The batteries last a long time. Easy to store in vehicle for “ER awake validation test as you drive”.

Just buy a better K band radar MPH Z-15 for $100 on eBay. Just $40 more.

Why is the Z-15 better??

I have a Bushnell and love it. It throws a 24.128 and works perfectly for testing, the frequency is adjustable like was pointed out. At full price I paid $100 CDN, or about $70 USD on Amazon.
