Isn't that the one that merges back-to-back posts from the same member? Or is that completely different and/or why would you want to see post padding?Would you please consider disabling the double post merging "feature?" I hate it so much, and I can't be the only one.
Yes, that's the one. I hate it because when I want to update a thread, if I was already the last poster my update gets "lost" at the end of the previous post. People may have liked the previous post but don't like the merged post(s), and vice versa. The styling of the merge isn't very aesthetic, either.Isn't that the one that merges back-to-back posts from the same member? Use Multi-QuoteThe other issue is if I am specifically answering a Member’s question and then I scroll down five or six posts and answer another Members question; it then merged the two posts together whether they have anything to do with each other or are completely different. Not good in my opinion IE can cause confusion especially for new members. THEN to make things worse if they are completely different and a fourth party (not me and not either of the Members I replied to) gets involved by replying to my merged post, it is then a total mess.
And as for so called post padding, that is noticeable isn’t it and really doesn’t apply to Advanced User does it? Is there a way to make the Merge an option as part of the reply function for Advanced Users?
Totally agree with this. It needs a time limit where it stops automerging after a time.I also dislike this feature because it doesn’t always bump the thread to indicate activity. Who knows how many tiny pieces of addendums I’ve missed as a result of this feature.
I also hate it. I have liked a post, then the OP posted again, it double merged, then it still thinks I like the post, but sometimes I don't agree with the second half. RDT did not have double post merging and it was, is better. Please consider.Would you please consider disabling the double post merging "feature?" I hate it so much, and I can't be the only one.
