Just got my alp installed, and the control pad does not make any noise at all. In parking mode or when being shot with lidar. The led signals that stuff is happening but no sound. Any ideas? I put the alert at 3 on the sound notification.

It sounds to me like you need to download the Non HiFi firmware HERE Onto USB and connect to control module. It will announce "Data Stored"
It won't announce data stored since no hifi :p

But yes, do make sure everything is updated. The control set has its own firmware different from the ALP cpu's.

Also make sure it is in fact non hifi and not just the hifi unit missing the external speaker haha.

Like the other stated, you sure you have the hifi control pad? If so, make sure you install the voice pack

Thanks guys. I did download the control set firmware, and made sure it was not the hifi. I will keep messing with it. Thanks again.

Are you also connected to BT? If you are connected to BT there is no sound from the wired controller.
Also post a picture of the controller... Its possible you have a HiFi Controller with no speaker attached.

Sorry guys I have been busy the last few days and have not had time to mess with the control pad any. BRD the control pad I have does have 2 wires coming out of it. One goes to the control box, and one looks like it has the female side of a headphone jack. Do all control pads have the speaker hook up or is it only on the HIFI control pad? Thanks.

LOL that means you have a hifi control pad. The hifi pad has no internal speaker. If you connect an external speaker to that female headphone jack, you'll hear audio alerts with voice :)

Also, called it!

Good deal! Thanks Squirrel. I will hook up a small speaker and see what happens.

Keep in mind the ALP hifi control set has the amplifier built in so make sure the speaker you use isn't powered externally and doesn't have a built in amplifier.

Anybody have suggestions for a smaller speaker for the ALP? Don't have a good spot for a 2" cube (but could certainly do a 2x2x.5)

Not sure, but I was thinking maybe a 1" tweeter with some double sided sticky tape. From what I have seen the hifi system is pretty loud so as long as it doesn't blow the speaker it should be just fine and would be easy to conceal. Just a thought.

In not sure, but a set of headphones might work for testing.
