I just brought a dualpro 360 and it's a $500 paperweight because i don't trust it. When it works it's a good detector, but it keeps locking onto a signal then it gets stuck on that single signal till i turn it off and on. I can turn into a forest area with no one area and it's still alerting me for a KA or K with 1 bar and it bounces from front to back every so often to make you think it's doing something. I checked for a firmware update for it and there was none.

I trust my 9500ix better than this thing. Will there be a fix for this on the 360 detectors that will trickle down to the Cobra one. I haven't owned it a week yet and feel it's going back to Amazon. I wanted to send this one back for a max 360 for the side arrows but not if it's going to lock onto a signal till you realize it's not real. I like the iradar/escort live app, so i hoping there was a fix for this coming or should i not hold my breathe.

Sorry to hear of your problems. This thread may be of interest.

In that thread, an escort radar rep posted this:

In the next day or two we will be releasing new firmware for all "360" portable detectors which should address this, false rear radar alerts, and false laser alerts.

Is that the same issue? Seems mines locks onto a faint single radar source and gets stuck on it with the same 1 bar beep sound going off forever till i unplug it. I think there's freezes up and stops alerting them to any threats.

Nothing in your car that could be causing the Falses ?
If not send it back while you can.
No, nothing else. No other radars on and never had this issue with any of my detectors. Im really wondering if i should return for another dual pro 360 ? Maybe the one i got is defective?

Right, that's how the lockup bug presents itself in all the different 360 series detectors.

There's been several updates released to attempt to fix the issue. Escort has reduced how often the lockups happen, but they haven't eliminated them entirely. Fingers crossed that this upcoming update truly does completely resolve the issue.

I see now. This puts me in a bad place now. Keep it and hope they fix it because i like iradar app integration. Or send it back and pay a bit more for the r7 but loose the app integration that's similar to waze but with detector support.

They just released FW 1.10 for the Max360c. I would expect it to come to the DualPro 360 and GT-360 in the very near future. You could try that and see whether it solves the lockup problem before deciding. Please let us know how it turns out!

If it was me and the return window allowed, I’d wait a day or two and try out the new firmware to see if that takes care of the issue. Assuming it comes out when it’s supposed to. If not, could return it and repurchase if posts on this forum are favorable.

If you have time before the return window ends, then I would hang on and do the FW update. I would also wait until other users have done the update and see what their experiences are. Hopefully it gets to a point of being trustworthy again. Your issue sounds slightly different, so hopefully you repeat it and see if the update fixed it...

i think you might have a bad one. ive had mine a little before it came out and ive had no issues. i would try another one, and see what happens.

I'm not sure if that's the case. The lockup issues seem to be pretty intermittent at this point, especially with the newer updates. It doesn't seem to be something that happens on a daily basis or anything. Either way, hopefully the latest update coming out this week actually solves the issue. That's probably our best bet.

For what it's worth, no problems whatsoever with mine. I was ready to forgive it a lot of things for the $212 I paid for it, so far I have not had to forgive it anything. Even the transition from front arrow to back arrow is smooth and timely, something which was apparently an issue with the GT-360

Same here so far with me. Had a Ka threat Sunday that exhibited a nice front to rear transition. Mine's working so well so far, that I'm hesitant to load any new software to fix something that ain't broken on my unit :hmm:
