Here are 2 K-band encounters showing how terrain can affect a units performance.
Settings: v1.37 - Adv - K @100% - K Filter On - TSF Off

I have my Volume on 2, set to auto mute to 1 so you might need to turn up the volume a bit.

1st encounter we have a MA Tropper running C/O K-band @ 24.175

2nd encounter is a local LEO running C/O K-band @ 24.168

Nice!

Tell that 2nd LEO that he's occupying the same airwaves with the newest Hondas/Acuras!

Why run K @100% rather than highway? Seems like that is wasting a profile to me.

Solid showing! Pretty much exactly what I see up here in the northern part of the state. Terrain definitely plays a big role with K band, just like it does with 35.5. Less sensitivity may have made that second encounter dicey.

PS: There was a MASP cruiser parked in front of my work this morning with a Bee III on the dash and the K band patch antennas. I've only ever seen Decatur K band units in MASP cars thus far, although others have reported Raptor RP-1's may be out there as well. Looks like the state is adding to their K band arsenal.

Thanks for sharing. That second one had the terrain working against it. TBH, the first one seemed like a shorter alert than it should have been, given that it was pretty much open and straight. Maybe I'm just too picky. :hmm:

It is deceiving, it is a long curve with an uphill for him and downhill for myself. I would say that is the 'norm' for the SP on that road for myself. They also seem to be running the low powered K as well but no clue if that was or not.

Still, nice detections, enough time to react before visual. I really like to slow-mo edit when LEOs are passing.
