I have QR set to 40.
QR is something that I need to experiment a bit with. I don't ever use it, but I suspect that it can be very helpful in certain situations as could automute set at 0 (which I also don't use).

How's your experience with legit K-band alert distances been with 40%? Any close calls? My previous testing with standard powered K-band showed the R7 @30% doing about as good as the V1 and Max 360. But as @DrHow correctly points out, with the low powered Falcon HR, the R7 @30% lagged behind the 360C and V1. That's why I suggested 50% above. If one speeds a lot in the city (I don't other than the occassional 48-50 in a 40 on a three lane each way divided city street), than City mode may not be acceptable there, either.

OTOH, the MWCTG showed that in some very difficult test scenarios with the Falcon HR, even 50% may not be enough for 100% protection.

As always, more testing is needed..
I've only bumped down in the last month, but I've been getting decent detection range. The bigger issue for me, is getting used to the change in the way it alerts every time I change that setting, the ramp up cadence changes and I have to readjust to it. I had one close call when a LEO turned into the street I was on and the R7 pegged out almost immediately with a full tilt alert, but I don't know if any detector would have done that differently.

Maybe I'll need to do a FOIA request on Bedford PD to see what they are buying and running to be sure. I do feel like I've passed more Bedford cops that aren't doing active enforcement at all which is odd. When the R7 was losing to the falcon HR in % reduced mode, was it a complete lack of detection, or just reduced range to the other 2?

I have mine set at 70% with all the K filters on, K wide and I don't get many false alerts, even in rush hour traffic. I deal with a lot of MRCD/CT which many times gets identified as K band when it hops to different frequencies so I don't want to lower the sensitivity and more than I have to. I have QR set to 40.
That’s interesting because this morning I drove by my usual red light camera that my R3 always alerts MRCD at. The R7 did not alert to the camera or MRCD just a rear K alert.... I should end up passing by it later today with less traffic...

Just reduced range. a FOIA request might not be a bad idea to see what they have in their arsenal.

Did you update your R7 to latest FW and data base?

The MRCD thing is tricky and not refined yet. I think we are expecting an update to improve it. Part of the issue is the frequency hopping those units do. It confuses the RD. My R7 typically flips back and forth between an MRCD alert and K alert on different frequencies.

Just went by it again, no alert to the red light camera in one direction but alerts when going the other way... no MRCD alert but K band each way... my R3 always gets the camera and MRCD in both directions....
